I have a Ray Davies ticket for sale, because unfortunately i can no longer go. I really need someone to buy this ticket. It cost me $64.80 from the Ticketmaster site and that is all I want for it (suggested - or near offer). It is at The Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC on Friday 12th December at 7.30pm for 8.00pm. If you want more information why I cannot go, feel free to email me. I am very upset that I cant go, but I really need someone to buy this ticket from me. If there is anyone considering/planning on going and buying their ticket from the Ticketmaster website, please don't; instead please buy it off me. Please somebody help. I am not a ticket tout!

Subject: Ray's tour and Come Dancing
I saw the posted set lists for Ray east coast tour and was surprised not to
see any songs from his Musical "Come Dancing". I figured for sure we would
hear the title song and had hope that we might hear a song or two from the
show such as "Big Sister" or "A Better Thing". Maybe we should get a paper
plate drive going to hear one of the new songs at the remaining shows?
I plan to be out visiting my sister in upstate NY and will be in NYC for
Ray's show at the Hammerstein. Looking forward to seeing other Kinks fans
there.
GSTK,
Rob

[The tour is still more in support of Working Man's Cafe than anything
else. He hasn't hit this area playing WMC songs yet. Ten to One Frank
will be able to get Ray to play Come Dancing during at least one concert.

Hi All, Much stuff about firsts and lists and so on with the digest
lately. For me ADAAOTN was the catalyst, the first thing that really
grabbed my attention. Nothing before or at the time could compare
sonically to it. To my ears it is pure teen/punk/rock celebration. Sounds
like barbed wire and broken glass; and the sound of Dave's solo is
extreme. Pretty sure this is the one that inspired the "barking dog"
comparison that Ray has mentioned. Anyway, that's the one that really got
my love affair with the Kinks off and running and it's never stopped.

Subject: one from the road...How do I get Close, bring the paper plates!
Last night during a conversation about our hotels that we were staying at, something came up that made Ray ask Andrea about which Miami Beach Hotel the " How do I get Close " video was shot because he could not recall which one himself. None of us could come up with the answer, so if anyone knows it, email me today so I can let Ray know tonight.
Got Ray to do most of Muswell Hillbillies in Miami when I sang the first line for him, and also he did most of Misfits in Orlando, and almost all of Alcohol in Tampa. btw That was my X-wife that was the paper plate bomber and giver of the Tampa Bay Ray's shirt to X-Ray in Tampa.
We flew down from New Jersey with most of the members of opening band Locksley so got ot know them. Gave them the FranK quick course of KinKs history 101. They have rehearsed You Really Got Me, Victoria, and Lola and that is what they have been doing as the encores so far but they have worked on Dead End Street, and Low Budget but have not done those yet with Ray. Ray has been doing Low Budget with Bill though as part of the regular show. btw Bill's playing has been outstanding so far on this tour, and Bill will be joining Milton when the full band arrives for the last 4 shows up North. Also Ray Kennedy may may a guest appearance with Ray and Bill on stage Wednesday night in Nashville.
FranK
ps bring the plates and save them for the encore with Locksley when the show kicks it up a notch in to high gear and everyone crams up at the stage!

Good luck, Andres, with your "Firsts" show. I have to admit, I'd never even
considered "Rocket 88" to be a candidate for "first overdriven guitar" sound
. . . but I think you are right, the guitar is overdriven.
Speaking of another first: Sally Vincent is the first to get Ray to discuss
spirituality? Why didn't she talk to Dave? Ray's words seem very very
similar to things his brother has discussed.
And now, for my last: a Kinks reunion is probably not a very good idea. If
all four original members WANT to do it, it would take a herculean effort to
be anything more than a "oldies" situation. I would certainly attend an
event, given a chance, but at the present I'm just hoping Dave gets healthy
and decides to go out on the road again. I always figured him a sure-fire
pick for Ringo's All-Star Band. WFT!! Ringo, wake up, dude!
Everyone everywhere, have a happy thanksgiving . . .

Subject: Politics & Religion
Neil,
I avoided writing this when all the Ray's bible/Dave's mysticism/political discussions were going on because I didn't want to become part of the problem. Now, I would like to offer an olive branch.
I used to be VERY political but, over the past few years, I've come to believe that NO man can cure our ills so I no longer vote. You can call me apathetic, but I really don't care (joke intended).
Also, I was raised Roman Catholic, so I fall into the "Christian" category. I do believe in God but I don't send letters to Dave Davies preaching about it and I'm very happy that he affords me the same courtesy.
Over a hundred years ago, a man wiser than I (and possibly even wiser than Dave) made a statement about all of this. His name was Samuel Clemens, he was better known as Mark Twain, and he warned us that, if we want to keep our friends, we should never discuss politics or religion. I can agree with that.
So God/Buddha/Allah/Yahweh/Jehovah Save The Kinks and let's keep this forum about our boys!
Best Wishes,
Mark
P.S. I pre-ordered the box set and I can't wait!!!
