A few items from the News & Rumors page at
www.kindakinks.net/news-rumors.php
There's an article on the sale of Konk in the Hornsey & Crouch End
Journal. The print version has a bold headline and a couple photos on the
front page. There are fans quoted from the Ray Davies Forum in the
article .
[Check the News & Rumors page for the links to the articles.]
Just a reminder about two Kinks tribute shows happening this weekend. The
first is happening at The Sunset in Seattle this Friday at 9pm. Various
Seattle-area artists will perform Kinks songs, and proceeds will benefit
Musicares. Here's a Facebook page for the event. The second is a
performance of the Muswell Hillbillies album in its entirety by a 10-piece
band at BB King's in NYC this Sunday at 7pm. There will be a fan gathering
before the show (4pm) at Daltons, 611 9th Avenue.

Geoff Edgers has a great blog post about the LA screening of the "Do It
Again" film. Also, Marianne Spellman wrote a review of the film. To help
cover film expenses, Geoff is auctioning off a copy of the Mike Gent (of
the Figss) 45 "Big Sky/Victoria" autographed by Allison and Tiffany
Anders, Michael Des Barres, Shel Talmy(!) and Dave Jenkins (former bass
player in Dave Davies' band). Email bids to Geoff Edgers.

Most Exclusive Residence for sale...KonK on the block, the final elbow or
something Better Beginning?
I say something better beginning and we should all be supporting Ray in his
decision and wishing him good luck in the next chapter in KinKdom and his
career...!
I have been bombarded with emails, voicemails, phone calls, facebooks, from
people who want to know what's up that Ray is selling Konk???
First of all to those who are calling this "the final elbow" or the
beginning of the end, I say it's more likely the start of " Something
Better Beginning "
While I am not 100% sure what to make of it yet. Ray has told me several
time in the past he was just thinking about selling KonK. I don't think
as other have speculated that it is a sign that he slowing down in fact
I think maybe just the opposite. He has become a non stop maximum
consumption work-a-holic even more so than usual lately. The sale of
Konk will give him more time to do exactly what he wants and likes and
do it anywhere he likes and not have all the pressure, stress and time
sucking issues that go along with running a business.
I do think he will be spending more time in NYC or at least the US from
hints that he has dropped to me in recent months. But that is just a
guess. And Yes wishful thinking too on my part too!!!
I know the sale of Konk with all it's history in KinKdom is sad to many
of us, me espcially included, but we must remember it was Ray's baby
from the start and he was the founder and creator of Konkwest Records
Ltd, and Konk studios and I am sure there are many reasons that went in
to his thought process to sell it now.
Finally and most importantly,The only thing I will say is that I hope
others here and throughout kinkdom and the music industry join me in
wishing Ray the best of luck in the future no matter what he chooses to
do, and that we all stand behind him and support him in to the future
and the next chapter in his career. He has not let us down yet and I
don't think he ever will or could.
"I offered my very best to you
Gave you my dreams to aspire to
Involved you in all my crazy schemes
And took you to places you'd never seen;
and there's gas in my tank and I've still got a way to go
Another hotel, it's time to check out soon
As I look around the room
I think of all the friends I've left behind
...On the road"

If anything sums up Ray Davies its his love of his local team Arsenal and
the fact that after all the years of travel and success he still lives a
shouting distance away from the stadium within a handful of miles from where
he was born. .
No matter where Ray goes in the world he always wants to know how his
beloved Arsenal have got on. If only there were more like Ray instead of
this growing band of gloryhunters just "following" the winning teams despite
the fact that they can never get to see them.
As he said " This is where I belong"
Well done Ray, respect.
Heres wishing you the bluest sky
