I went to B.B.King's tonight in Manhattan to see the Aquabats -- a dynamic group of costumed masked superheros who play ska-punk music and totally rocked the house. Songs like "Nerd Alert", "Super Rad," "High Five City," and "Pool Party" -- these guys are incredibly funny, with wacky videos and skits sprinkled throughout the show, but also a tight, talented bunch of musicians. Here's their websites if you want to check them out -- I loved them! www.theaquabats.com/also www.myspace.com/theaquabats

Fun song! Thanks for sharing, Holly. I'll have to dig up some Andrew Bird and PB&J for this thread.

Going to see Fountains of Wayne tomorrow night. Then the Bottle rockets at a fest in Princess Marina's home town on Sunday. She's coming home from vacation that day so I doubt if she will make it. She says she will though.

The Bottle Rockets - 24 Hours a Day Dollar Store - Sonic Reducer The Riptones - Don't Touch My Hair Holly would dig the Riptones. Very cool rockabilly band. One of my favorite Bottle Rockets songs. Bottle Rockets - Things You Didn't Know We had a great time. Saw 4 bands for FREE!

The song is supposed to sound like the CARS.. at least that's what ED told us at the last concert. A bit POPPY for them but good, none the less.

Just found out that Patti Smith is opening for the Black Crowes shows we are going to October 30th & 31st in NYC...! She just got added as the opener, she wasn't on the bill when we got tickets so this is a nice surprise since we go see her anyway when we can like we will be seeing her next Tuesday night in NYC when she opens a new rock club venue in NY.

Fashion Zombies is really good. I also like I'm a Winner. Didn't like the other ones as much. Fantastic lyrics, though. The words to Hot Summer Nights are hysterical. ;D
