Ok, here it is, my parody of Train's Hey Soul Sister. Hope you like!
Hey Toe Blister
Ow, ow, ow These burning pains are driving me half-insane I knew I couldn't forget it but I also wouldn't let it blow my mind
This calming cream eases the swelling in every single scream I scream I knew when I collided the pain I couldn't hide it I'm outta my mind
Hey toe blister ain't that a bad blister on my big toe, oh no the way it hurts ain't fair you know Hey toe blister I wish she would kiss you so I could sleep tonight
Ow, ow, ow
Just in pain it's so bad like an ice pick in my brain it gave me an infection and upon further' inspection I might die
I'm so upset my heart is pounding like a blind man placing a bet you cut me open like a surgeon, I'm a goner and my relatives are gonna sue you blind.
Hey toe blister ain't that a bad blister on my big toe, oh no the way it hurts ain't fair you know Hey toe blister I wish she would kiss you so I could sleep tonight
I'd like to give you a slug slapping you is the only drug I need so painful, I've been mugged I can't even feel you take my blood next an IV, I can pee in a cup slowly something smells kinda funny I want this blister to let me be
Hey toe blister ain't that a bad blister on my big toe, oh no the way it hurts ain't fair you know Hey toe blister I wish she would kiss you so I could sleep tonight
Hey toe blister I wish she would kiss you so I could sleep tonight
Ow, ow, ow this bites ow, ow, ow this bites.

;D This is hysterical, Tim!!! BTW I think that song deserves a send-up. It is wicked catchy, a real ear-worm, but it's been SO overplayed.

Thank you both! I've been a Weird Al fan since I was 7 so I guess that has influenced me. That, and my natural love of playing with words.

Yep, I remember writing some song parodies in the style of Weird Al back in 1983 and 1984. 'Eat It' and the 3-D album really hooked me and Tim too! I know I saw them a year or so ago in a stash of my old writings. The theme of some were send offs of a few obnoxious characters in the neighborhood; I know one was called 'Come Eating' and another was 'Every Bite You Take'. I don't think they would be worthy of printing now unless I took out some of the references to my past and; well, they were funny to me at the time and were really just meant for me and my young brother and I think they might seem harsh now!

I think quality songs like that are overplayed now perhaps because there is a dearth of them in the mainstream pop consciousness; it's not autotuned and it's pretty clever!

I forgot to mention your influence. Those parodies you wrote back then were hilarious! But then, you've influenced my life in so many good ways I can''t count them.

I must say that when I started this thread, I was hoping that it would lead to some interesting contributions from many forumers. I titled it 'Our..' for that reason, and didn't mean for it to be just me, and as it turned out, really Tim, carrying the thread. Tim could fillup many a thread of this type but I think he lost some steam for it because it kind of felt like doing a guitar solo in the forest with no one there to hear it!

I went to a candlelight vigil and the people were singing a Pink Floyd song. Sadly, a fight broke out. All in all, just another wick in the brawl.
