Technicolor Difficulties there’s a heavy price toupee. Tim, could the hair club chapter for the bald eagles rent a few of those toupee's until we figure out how to unbald them? Oh also, could your discountant give us a family deal so we don't have toupee so much!?

That's the ironic thing about self-depreciating humor. The more you tell it, the more someone else appreciates it.

Chairman Martin doesn't look back on past glories in bygone salad days. No siree! As we all know, every day is a salad day to him! Gratuitous wiki leaked definition for the befuddled : "Salad days" is an idiomatic expression, referring to a youthful time, accompanied by the inexperience, enthusiasm, idealism, innocence, or indiscretion that one associates with a young person. More modern use, especially in the United States, refers to a person's heyday when somebody was at the peak of his/her abilities—not necessarily in that person's youth.

Thanks for making me smile with this post John! I don't believe I've come across this expression before. It obviously tickled Martin too! ;D

You're welcome sleepwalker and Martin! MARTIN could have a stake in us all kicking off a happy New Year. He must know that one of the esteemed members of the Rat Pack was the DEAN of being roasted. What better time for a forum roast to be feasted on by board patrons than at New Year's! And now, more wiki leaked documents for the criminally befuddled: Rat Pack- was a group of actors originally centered on Humphrey Bogart. In the mid-1960s it was the name used by the press and the general public to refer to a later variation of the group, after Bogart's death, that called itself "the summit" or "the clan," featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop, who appeared together on stage and in films in the early-1960s, including the movie Ocean's Eleven.[1] A roast is an event in which an individual is subjected to a public presentation of comedic insults, praise, outlandish true and untrue stories, and heartwarming tributes, the implication being that the roastee is able to take the jokes in good humor and not as serious criticism or insult, and therefore, show their good nature. It is seen by some as a great honor to be roasted, as the individual is surrounded by friends, fans, and well-wishers, who can receive some of the same treatment as well during the course of the evening. The party and presentation itself are both referred to as a roast. The host of the event is called the roastmaster. Anyone who is honored in such a way is said to have been "roasted". Dean Martin hosted a series of roasts on television in 1974 as part of the final season of his self-titled variety show. After the show was cancelled, NBC decided to schedule a series of roast specials from the former MGM Grand Hotel and Casino (now Bally's Las Vegas) in the Zigfeld Room through 1984.

Just an FYI. I just heard the band Rush refer to their 'salad days' of the 70s on a VH1 documentary of the band! It's an actual term that is actually used by real people! I was kind of kidding above. I'm not into roasts really; well at least maybe only a few bites here and there ! I think post 'toasts' of gratitude are more in line for the Chairman of the Board!
