Several songs contained on the album Then Play On by Fleetwood Mac are simply beautiful.
'Coming Your Way' is really great with super guitar and percussion. 'Closing My Eyes' is simply a very beautiful song.
Cooldad, I'll look into 'One Hell Of A Life'.

Uncle, "Movers & Shakers" is a keeper. It sounds like a typical Clash song until you get to the chorus (the hook) which I really enjoy. Thanks! I can't as of yet, find the two Fleetwood Mac songs on itunes (I am keeping an open mind) but that is the beauty of this search (my quest) finding hidden gems from improbable sources.

Cooldad, Yes, the chorus in Movers and Shakers is great! I think you'll love those two Fleetwood Mac songs, and probably the entire album. I believe Then Play On was released in 1969 and has the famous guitarist Peter Greene on it. For my sixteenth birthday my Auntie Jeanne bought me two albums, Beggars Banquet, and Then Play On. And, The Kinks and Stones came back to the USA in that year. What a great year!

Cooldad, the album, The Circle Game, by Tom Rush, isnt exactly rock, but it's good.

Uncle "Then Play On" is a great album to listen to! Easy listening, from beginning to end. (No clunkers or fast forwarding needed). Still after many listens I couldn't help but think that they were waiting around for something to happen, needed some direction or producer who could tie things together. Still it is a great album I just put it on and cruise along. "Coming Your Way" is my fave. Thanks for the heads up!
Heres one for you "Leave the Light On" - Chris Smither

Most songs by the little known or appreciated bands like The Move (Roy Wood), and Arthur Lee Love to me are considered hidden gems, World Party too, and even King Crimson here and there too. There are many others bands and artists I consider to have or be hidden gems but for my hidden gem pick for this moment in time I'm going with the song...
" All the Way over the Hill " by Roy Wood from his amazing solo album from the 70's " BOULDERS.

I agree Then Play on is great!!! if for nothing else " Oh Well " but the rest too! and another hidden gem is Fleetwood Mac's ablum even though without Peter Greene is " Kiln House " ! A great return to some simple rock & roll !
