Also, a message from Talenthouse.
Hi Jeff,
Thank you for writing in.
The host did ask for more time to make their decision but we unfortunately don't have a specific date at this time. We are confident that the winner announcement will happen soon and we appreciate your continued patience.
We wish you best of luck; don't hesitate to contact us again if you need another update or have any questions.
Regards, Derek

I feel slightly honored to be caught in the crossfire between the two Davies brothers. Maybe Ray will pick me now just to slight Dave I must admit that I'd probably feel the same Jeff! It's just really cool that Dave left a message under your entry - that means he must've listened to your Kover! I saw that you wrote back to him - I sure hope he replies, that'd be nice! By the way, I checked Dave's Facebook page and it seems he's commented on quite a lot of the entries, I thought he might check out Kovers of songs he's written, and indeed he has commented on covers of Death Of A Clown, Strangers and a Kover of Creepin' Jean.

I love the idea that Dave is scrollling around the site dropping pointed comments!

Actually a lot of his commenrs have been quite nice Holly! He commented on a Kover of Creepin' Jean saying it sounded better than the original! Although he did pull someone up for singing ...'My makeup is dry and it clags on my chin'... - saying, 'That's 'cracks' not 'clags'!

As each day passes, I get less hopeful that this contest will actually conclude. I'm afraid Ray forgot or something.

I was actually thinking about the contest the other day Jeff... I take it there's been no further announcements? I'm sure Ray hasn't forgotten, probably just busy with several different things - he always seem to have several projects on the go at once! It must be a bit frustrating for people who have entered, such as yourself, though - I know if it were me I'd be getting really impatient by now!

It could also be that Ray is in rehearsals for his up-coming Fall Tour?

It could also be that Ray is in rehearsals for his up-coming Fall Tour? Possibly Smiley...not long to go now, I'm practically counting down the days until the first show I have tickets for on the 1st of October. I do wonder what's going on with the Komp though

I can't believe we're still on hold.
I've already bugged them once, could someone send them a message and ask for an update? Here's the email address. support@talenthouse.com
Much appreciated. I'm starting to lose hope.

I loved her video from the start and I'm very pleased she won. Of course, there were several others I would have also been happy to see up there -- and others I'd have been discouraged to see win. So all in all, a good decision!

There's an article about the winner in her local paper www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/really-got-says-davies/story-17018712-detail/story.htmlYou really got me, says Kinks' Ray Davies, as Leicestershire singer wins recording competitionTuesday, October 02, 2012 Leicester Mercury A singer has won the chance to record under the guidance of one of rock music's all-time greats.
It has earned her to chance to record the song at the band's studios, where she will meet The Kinks frontman Ray Davies and drummer Mick Avory.
Pamella, of Thorpe Astley, said: "I didn't believe it at first. Then I thought wow, it's such a great opportunity.
"I took part in an X Factor-style singing contest at the Oadby Owl a few weeks ago and didn't even get third and then I heard about this.
"I don't know when I've got to go down yet, I am still waiting to hear."
The Kinks invited musicians to interpret any of their tracks as part of the competition on music website Talenthouse.
The band specified that the cover should express the musician's creativity and originality.
Pamella, guitarist Benn Hartmann, sound man Edgar Peyton and Luke O' Downie, filmed a video in Abbey Park and Western Park, Leicester, over the summer to accompany the song.
Pamella said: "I went online to look at some of their best-known songs, including Day and Night, Waterloo Sunset and So Tired.
"We chose this song because musically it sounds great and story-wise it is fun and melancholy.
"We kept the traditional stamp of the guitars and added some up-tempo beats to create a dance version of the song.
"It was all about team effort and being creative.
"I look forward to the vocal arrangements, especially the harmonies which The Kinks used a lot of – they sound sweet."
Pamella, formerly a backing singer with Leicester Community Gospel Choir, went solo two years ago.
She said: "Making the video was a laugh. I wrote the story line and we filmed and edited it ourselves.
"I like the song's lyrics, they're relaxed and melancholy, a little bit sad and happy."
There were two ways of winning the competition, by voting or by direct choice, and Pamella's version won the direct choice class.
Pamella, who works at Sainsbury's in Fosse Park store, said: "I am grateful to the people I work with, a lot of them voted for me.
"I have told a few people who said 'fantastic, well done'.
"Getting recorded is so difficult – you're up against a lot of people.
"This could be a huge step up there for me. I don't know what to expect at the end of it, I want to just enjoy it."
Talenthouse said on its website: "Pamella's video cover of Sunny Afternoon wowed Ray, who will help Pamella produce her track on their big day."
Her band, Pamella and the Beaux, will be performing at Oxjam, which takes place in the city's Cultural Quarter on October 20 to raise money for Oxfam.
