Thanks for the info Gary, I may have to get this! No, although I'm aware of it I don't have Don't Worry About Me, just a bunch of Ramones stuff. Do either Don't Worry... or Ya Know contain Joey's cover of Wonderful World? "Don't Worry" has "Wonderful World." It also has a song about CNBC's Maria Bartiromo! (I hope this reference travels well across the Atlantic.)

Gary, I'm afraid I don't know who Maria Bartiromo is - should I know?

She's a financial news host/reporter on our news channel CNBC. She used to be called "the Money Honey" because she was the only woman reporting from the floor of the stock exchange. It's a pretty obscure reference -- even if you lived here, you might not know her if you don't follow business news. Joey must have had a lot of time to surf TV channels if he developed this crush on her!

Thanks for the info Holly, I still have no idea who she is, I haven't even heard of the CNBC channel! I have been watching more American shows lately though, after getting a Freesat box - I've been getting quite into Judge Judy!

Sleepy, think of this as American revenge for having to look up all the references in "VGPS" and "Where Are They Now"!

Ok, I can't really argue with that Gary! Although I don't think ''God save strawberry jelly and all the different varieties'' would've had quite the same ring to it! ;D

Geraint Waktins - In A Bad Mood: Deluxe Expanded Edition
I saw him play as support act and part of Nick Lowe's band in March. He was fantastic!

You should get Dial W For Watkins, too! Hi Holly, I bought that one at the venue straight away! I should have asked Geraint to pose for a photo with me as well after the show. While I was talking to, taking a photo with, and getting an autograph from Nick, the rest of the band members were already in the van and I hesitated... ..... By the way, Nick was a lovely guy! I will definitely attend his show if he comes back here. My seat was in the 2nd row centre, right in front of Nick. But with the seat before me being vacant, it was like sitting in the front row .

Wakeup has already posted the cover of the new Beach Boys album, so I'll simply note that I've bought it now too. I've been itching for it since Tuesday but waited for a chance to visit my local bricks-and-mortar record store. Just as I expected, they had it for $9.99, same as Amazon!
Can't say much based on two listens while painting the deck and driving to work; I'm looking forward to getting to know it better. But I can say I found it moving to hear these guys back together and singing about the time that's passed. It must be even more moving when they play along with tapes of Carl and Dennis at their live shows.

Did you know that Neil Young has made a 40-minute "silent" movie to promote his new album, "Americana"? I didn't until someone tipped me off. You can watch it here: www.neilyoung.com/It's called "A Day at the Gallery," and Neil plays an author who visits an art gallery to find illustrations for a book he's written called "America." The gallery director takes him and his assistant through the gallery and shows him a painting for each page that needs an illustration. These are the "silent movie" parts, in black-and-white and with Neil and the others made up like 1920s actors. All the paintings are by Shepard Fairey, the artist who did the famous Obama "Hope" poster. (He plays a small role near the end of the movie.) Each time the characters stop at a painting, the camera moves in on it, it turns to color, and we hear a long excerpt from one of the "Americana" songs as actual silent film clips play to illustrate the theme. Then it's back to the characters and on to the next painting. You've probably heard that "Americana" is a collection of old songs like "Clementine" and "Tom Dooley." I got a good enough sense of it from the movie to decide I don't have to rush out and buy the CD. But I enjoyed the movie.

I got it and enjoy it very much. Critics have been bashing it. Chief complaint? Sounds like Neil Young & Crazy Horse versions of old folk songs. Are these folks paid to share their stellar wisdom and expertise? Where do I sign up? Anyway, I think it's a hoot.

I do adore Jimmy Fallon. When he had Ray on his show last year, a few of us dedicated followers hung around the lobby of 30 Rock waiting for Ray to come out. Jimmy saw us on his way out of the building and stopped by to say hi. I suppose at first he thought we were his fans, waiting for him, but when he realized we were waiting for Ray, he transitioned immediately into fellow-fanship, sharing with us his excitement over having been able to host such a rock legend.
