the live-YouTube-clip of "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" by "The Dutch

We have more clips on Youtube and all from the same room, so the
Kinks-poster will show up any time!
It is a poster for a 1972 concert, when The Kinks played Amsterdam.
Next to the word "The" is an image of the album-cover of "Everybody's In
Showbiz".
It's one of those posters, where they have even mentioned all personnel
in The Kinks!

Subject: Dave's show Feb 10
I'm looking very much forward to the 5 of us who "met" here, and,
amazingly, are now all going to Dave's show on February 10th, 2010. I
wanted to bring my daughter who will be 18 by then, but she gave me the
most ridiculous response I ever heard. "Daddy, it is a Wednesday night
and I have to go to school on Thursday!"
I mean, I have heard of being responsible and all of that, but never
really believed it still existed in our nation's teenagers or, worse, in
my lineage. Back in the day, I would have taken the entire week off to
prepare for this event, what with all of the....to bring and what-not.
I even told her I would get a limo to take us back home, but she
remained steadfast in her decision to pursue academia rather than see a
legend perform some of the greatest music ever in history. In my
opinion, that is education and I shall require a written essay on
'Schoolboys in Disgrace' in lieu of her absence.
My kolleague below reminded me of the time my good friend and komrade
for 33 years, Ms. Susan Mitchell, bought a three foot Birthday Card for
Ray in 1979 and mailed it to the address listed on one of the late 70's
Kinks albums. I think it went to Konk or someplace where "Fans could
write to the band." I know Ray is a busy man and all, but he has had 30
or 31 years to respond to our thoughtful gesture, and, had I known aat
the time that we would have been "dissed", I may have thought twice
about putting 62 stamps on that huge envelope, which did not fit in a
street corner mail-box. Alas, I believe we went to the post office in
New Jersey and simply gave it to the worker, who told me that I did not
need to put that many stamps on the envelope. So, Ray, if you're
reading this, Happy Belated Birthday from Sue and Ken circa 1978 or
1979. We will always love ya!
Note to Janet: "Rock bands have come, and Rock bands have gone, but Rock
'N Roll goin' to go on forever--All Day and All Of The Night..."
Who says that Ray won't still be playing in the "afterlife"? Trust me,
this gent has been performing for nearly 50 years and one can reasonably
conclude that nothing will stop him from doing what he does best!
Cheers!

I just caught up on reading my email last night and I saw that a poster
had asked if anyone would like to chip in for a booth at BB Kings for
Daves show. I noticed that another poster had replied so it was too
late for me to get in on that. I decided to go ahead and buy a booth
for the show. I will be going with a friend so that leaves 2 seats
available at $50 each. If anyone would like to join us, please email me
to make arrangements.
Note to Frank: Lately you have been posting on a subject that sort of
gives me the creeps, that being that when Ray is gone there will never
be another like him. Believe me, with us all getting older, I've also
thought about that but I've never vocalized my thoughts. I've even
wondered if I might prefer to enter the great abyss before Ray as when
he moves on that will be the day that the music truly dies for me. I
suppose that we should all just be grateful that we've been lucky enough
to have had over 40 years of music from Ray.
You know, I have not written a fan letter since my early teens, but I
would like to write to Ray to thank him for his music and the impact it
has had on my life. If anyone knows of an address where I could send a
letter to Ray, please let me know. I really want to write a "real"
letter as opposed to an email. My guess is that the odds against the
letter being read by Ray are enormous, but I would like to at least
attempt to let him know what his music has meant to me.
Everyone I know has a favorite band or songwriter and though they might
be quite enthusiastic about their choice, I don't quite hear the passion
that we have when speaking of Ray and the Kinks. He truly is one of a
kind. Thank you for the days, indeed.>>
