bring it on, starbuck. (I'm not sure that that picture has any relevance to the topic, but it always make me...um, dewy.)

Hello, this is my first post. I've joined especially for this, as I think the Stones were very controversial back in the day!!!!
I did see the Kinks a few times back in the day - saw them at Walthamstow Granada in the mid 1960s, and then sometime in the 1970s at Walthamstow Assembly Rooms when Ray Davies sang "Alcohol" and proceeded to soak the front rows with a glass of beer. I was so happy to be standing near the back of the hall (LOL)
I liked the Kinks a lot, though there were other bands that I preferred. I still find myself humming a few of Ray Davies lyrics now and again!!!

Welcome, sixtiesfan! I think you'll find you're in good company here. Maybe that would be a good thread -- Who was more controversial, the Stones or the Kinks?

Welcome Starbuck - nice to see you again.
Please bring Max with you - we'll even embrace that "Drive By Truckers" guy who never really did catch on to the Kinks.

word up CL..uncle...smiley....
i'll try to lasso in RMD...the DBT fan....now that lugar's board is defunct, he needs a place to hang out anyway. i think the engelbert humperdink message board is getting tired of him posting drunk anyway....
your assignments for stones week:
-translate the lyrics to gomper into any dead language of your choice -keep the d**n bassist from making pre teen bootie calls -friday night: kick ass party at CL's that will be busted by the cops, who will find hollyh naked and wrapped in a rug -warmly embrace "exile on main street" as your new overlord
