I was wondering if there are any good books either about The Kinks? I would be interested in learning more about what makes them tick.

Yes, there are indeed. Why don't you start off first with Ray Davies' "X-Ray - The Unauthorized Autobiography", Dave Davies' "Kink – An Autobiography" and Doug Hinman's "The Kinks - All Day And All Of The Night: Day By Day Concerts, Recordings And Broadcasts 1961-1996"? Enjoy.

Thanks Martin and Entertainment. I have bought X-ray for my Kindle on Amazon, would rather have a proper book but the postal service here is terrible at the moment, we have had one delivery in the last month, being an ex-postman this doesn't surprise me. So I didn't want to wait so I bought the Kindle edition.

Started reading "X-Ray" yesterday and to be honest I just cannot get my head around how it is written. I have read about 50 pages and it has got me completely confused. I am going to have to start at the beginning again and take it very slowly, just can't get a handle on it. I also bought a Kindle book called "The Alan's Album Archives Guide To The Music Of The Kinks." This is another good with an individual approach
