Count me among those who don't think Bruce Springsteen is all that original. Graham Parker, who taught Springsteen everything he knows, is way beyond "The Boss" in terms of brains, melody, and heart.
My "Europa League" would include Lennon, McCartney, Brian Wilson, Neil Young, May/Mercury, Van Morrison, and the late great Leonard Cohen. As for Dylan -- I know he is a major voice but his is a voice that I have never naturally responded to. I am not surprised that he has acted like a (as we in the US would say)dickhead vis a vis the Nobel Prize.

Bruce Springsteen may not be that original but he is a safe value. He always delivered the goods and does care for his fans.
Graham Parker is not known to many people reason which is entirely up to him. Nevertheless a great songwriter.
Bob Dylan is a musical and intellectual legend. Bob Dylan will always behave like Bob Dylan.

I ask ... What big group or great composer has not influenced Bob? Bob's musical catalog is huge and incredible ... Bob Dylan deserves to be among the greatest of music.
