I do like the Beach Boys and my sister is mad on them.
My latest is Steve Hackett's latest CD/DVD set and a copy of the first pressing of Genesis Trespass, a vastly underrated album in my eyes.

'Blonde and Beyond' comp for Blondie which has some nice odds and ends not on other comps such as Shayla, their cover of Ring of Fire, and a new favorite from the last album in their original run, 'English Boys', which is incredible!
A friend of mine sent me Kim Wilde's first 6 albums in deluxe cds from the 80s. I've become a huge fan of England's biggest female pop star in the 80s. She is very versatile as a vocalist, doing every thing from ska to new wave to HI NRG & her voice is wonderful to this day. It's also hard to deny she's a stunningly beautiful woman. I should have been a bigger fan originally. I'm currently listening to her new wave self titled debut that has a little ska, a little reggae, a little edgy synth rock & a good deal of new wave. Kimmy definitely took up the mantle from Debbie Harry on that album! I also found out her dad Marty Wilde was a huge rockabilly/rock star in the UK in the late 50s/60s.
Here's a cool recent duet between the two!

Allan Clarke - Resurgence
Excellent and strong album by the former lead singer of The Hollies. Great songwriting. Allan's voice is still in good shape.

Must admit I always fancied Kim Wilde in the 80's and liked a lot of her music. Her dad Marty Wilde was a massive star here in the 50's and 60's and of course co-wrote a lot of Kim's songs, I think with Kim's brother. I love Blondie, got all their albums, haven't got the "Blondie And Beyond" comp, will look out for that. Never heard and Allan Clarke solo work but will have to check it out as I love The Hollies.
One group I have never got into is Queen. I like their first 3 albums but they lost me from Night At The Opera onwards, just something about the later albums I couldn't take too, I know Freddie Mercury was an amazing front man but not for me even though I know they were brilliant.
A friend of mine who worked for Queen's record company told me a year before Freddie died that they had filmed his obituary, I was shocked and told a couple of friends who were big Queen fans and they laughed and said I must have got it wrong, sadly a year later I was proved right

Allan's album is fantastic. Great songs very well executed and produced. It's really worth having it.
As far as Queen is concerned - well I'm with you. It never really clicked and I didn't own a record at all until the end of the 80's when "The Miracle" (1989) and "Innuendo" (1991) came out. Both excellent and outstanding productions.

Just starting to listen to the VDGG box set, always find it takes a while for their music to make sense to me.
My latest purchase is The Beatles Revolver 2cd remix set, can't stretch to the Super Deluxe det, will get it one day though, it's my fav Beatles album. just ordered the John Lennon 2cd set of "Plastic Ono Band." I love all his albums but this one is as good as it gets.
