WMC -- Ray Rain -- Joe Jackson
for #3, I'm afraid I have a 8-way tie: Vampire Weekend -- Vampire Weekend Exit Strategy of the Soul -- Ron Sexsmith Same Old Man -- John Hiatt Narrow Stairs -- Death Cab for Cutie Konk -- The Kooks Momofuku -- Elvis Costello 22 Dreams -- Paul Weller Here We Stand -- The Fratellis
It was a very good year.

You're right, Nancy -- I forgot to put Locksley on that runner-up list! Though technically Don't Make Me Wait came out in 2007...

WMC was released February 19, 2008 so that one counts, Locksley was released January 2007 so that one doesn't count...
So I am adding the Picture Book [Box Set] [Audio CD by the Kinks which I have to save up for!
I think I will still get Joe Jackson as it seems to come highly recommended.

WMC was released February 19, 2008 so that one counts, Working Man's Café is a solo album (released 22nd October, 2007) by Ray Davies, formerly lead singer and songwriter of The Kinks. A day earlier, on 21st October, 2007, a 10 track promotional copy of the album (minus bonus tracks 'Hymn for a New Age' and 'The Real World') was 'given away' with the Sunday Times newspaper in the UK. no count....

Yes, we US fans get to count WMC on this year's list! (Although since I also bought it as an import from the UK in 2007 I could count it on last year's list too... )

My dear MrL, WMC wasn't released in the US until 2008. And we still haven't gotten the Picture box set here either!
