What movie was Yes Sir, No Sir used in? I recall a boys military school type film from the early'80s. Forgot the name. I remember recording that UK Jive stuff from MTV too. I have hours of interesting tv Kinks clips from that era. Gotta watch it, it's been years! What a blast to see it again, Thanks!

Could it be Up The Academy or something like that?

Was it a comedy? It doesn't ring a bell, and of course if Yes Sir No Sir was in it now I want to see it!

I'm not sure, it could be. All I remember is a friend from the past had it on Betamax. It was a few years back you could say. I've never seen it mentioned in any of the books yet. Let's get to the bottom of this.

I believe it was Up the Academy -- 1980 film directed by Robert Downey Sr. It has Ralph Macchio, Rob Leibman, Barbara Bach, and (no surprise) Robert Downey Jr. in it. The Rotten Tomatoes database says it has music by Blondie, Iggy Pop, Ian Hunter, Pat Benatar, Cheap Trick, and the Kinks. (Not bad company to be in!) Apparently it was produced by Mad Magazine and was such a flop, Mad disowned it. It has since developed a cult following. Sounds like a movie I could dig on many levels. I'm adding it to my Netflix queue NOW.

Well, I hope one of them isn't "Heart of the City." There are tons of MUCH better Nick Lowe songs.
