I couldn't find a logical place to post this, so I started a thread for reunion rumors -- hope there isn't one already! This is a teaser for an Uncut article, and it's different from other reunion rumors I've seen, because Uncut talked to all three surviving Kinks.

I believe there has been a lot of buzz on Facebook about this article. There is always wishful talk about a Kinks reunion, followed by the usual arguments about whether we really want to see them reunite if the product is less than up to their standards. Of course nobody wants them to do something that will turn out badly.
It can only work if both Ray and Dave are really committed to it and on board with it. This article makes it sound as if perhaps they are getting to that place at last.
Than again, so much of Ray and Dave's public sparring over this issue in the past has been dangling catnip to journalists. No one but the brothers themselves really know how they feel. And I worry that this more hopeful reunion talk is just more journalist catnip....

i think this time it just may happen, 50 is a pretty significant anniverary #. there appears to be alot of kinks rereleases coming this year with lola vs powerman etc first up according to the article. it appears that ray's much threatened new album(see big things happening for ray 2012,2013 threads in the ray forum) is not happening anytime soon and apart from a couple of storyteller style shows in england while promoting americana, ray doesn't look like he'll be doing a solo u.s. tour soon. dave's 2 u.s. tours, especially the november tour, where dave was in great form, show he's ready to go. but as always it is up to the brothers d, if they want to do it they'll do it. i'd love to see mick avory included and the horn section as well, but i'd be just as happy to see ray and dave with acoustic guitars playing and telling stories about the music and their lives and times, kind of like an old doc watson show. time will tell
