Here is another clue I dug up as best I could of A and B's chronology of induction! Hope it helps ! A. 1. Rock N Roll Hall of Fame (1986), 2. Country Music Hall of Fame (1998) 3. Gospel Music Hall of Fame (2001) 4. Rockabilly Hall of Fame (2007 - delayed induction because of a dispute over proper handling of award certificate by estate) B. 1. Songwriters Hall of Fame (1977) 2. Country Music Hall of Fame (1980 - youngest living inductee ever) 3. Rock N Roll Hall of Fame (1992) 4. Rockbabilly Hall of Fame (? - inducted right after Carl Perkins)) 5. Gospel Music Hall of Fame (2011) Side Note: Gene Vincent was the first artist inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 1997 ! As you know John Im a big Gene Vincent fan so I thank you for this information! He should be in the Rock HOF as well.....

There have been 345 individual songwriters inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame! One oddity is that 2 'rock bands' have been inducted into the SHOF as a whole group.
Who are these 2 bands ?

I don't know the answer to this John, but I'll be interested to find out who these 2 rock bands are! I hope someone can guess soon as I'm curious to know

Beatles/Crosby,Stills & Nash? After thinking about this question and now, finding that I'm half right, gives me great satisfaction!!! Although, I know that "other brit. band," is NOT the Rolling Stones. I had to look up the Answer and I would HAVE NEVER guessed it!!!
Now I have to Pass! I hope someone else guesses it right! PS. I found it quite sad, that our beloved Ray & Dave, are not included.

Beatles/Crosby,Stills & Nash? PS. I found it quite sad, that our beloved Ray & Dave, are not included. Hooray for you Smiley! Your guess was amazing as I would have had no idea prior to running across the info myself! I applaud you for 'recusing' yourself from this particular proceeding as well! And yes, Ray's omission is glaring in light of some who are on it! There are a lot of solid inclusions, but to think, the Kinks actually had more Top 10 US hits, as many Top 40s, Top 100's etc as this other band; a great band, but I never really considered them earthshattering songwriters as a unit! On an artistic level, I think the Kinks and Ray and Dave are superior 'songwriters' to this band! In light of this, it still baffles me the Kinks only had 4 US Gold records and no platinum; what did some of these bands like the Eagles do to sell close to 30 million of a skimpy Greatest Hits in the US while racking up 17 Top 40 hits (the Kinks actually had 14 Top '41' hits) or close to 20 million of Hotel California. No offense to the Eagles, who I like, but how do the huge album sales come from a comparatively modest number of hits and getting on the country rock bandwagon after it had long left the station? I had several 'you kidding me moments', like how there are so few country/Americana songwriters on the list and how the he!! Merle Haggard is not inducted when,,, well, I don't like to be mean spirited!
