This is an 80s Brit band that Sleepwalker turned me on to with her inclusion of Lead Me Astray on a mix cd she made. I actually remembered their hit 'Crash' which was a Top 5 Modern Rock here but I did not remember the band. The band actually had 4 Top 12 modern rock hits here in the States. I've been enjoying their 21 song Greatest Hits today. Most of the songs are propelled by jangly guitars and lead singer Tracy Tracy's vocals. A few songs are a little harsher and lead vocals are by a guy; sort of Jesus and Mary Chain lite.
Here is a non hit that caught my ear.
Thru The Flowers - The Primitives

A House of Love tune just happened to come up after The Primitives tune stopped playing on youtube for me. I had recently bought Tim a couple of cds by that post punk band for his birthday to replace his lost House of Love collection. They were kind of in between the sound of Echo and the Bunnymen and the more aggressive sound of the Mighty Lemon Drops.

Thanks for posting those bro, two bands that definitely deserved more PR!

You're welcome bro! I'll have to get some more Primitives up as we've been enjoying them so much! Tracy Tracy could go from Platinum Blonde to a convincing redhead, so that gets brownie points from me!
Hopefully, you'll start a House of Love thread and/or post some of their vids here!

Ok, this is the biggest of the Primitives 4 big US Modern Rock hits in the late 80s.

A nice clean poppy tune from the English indie Pop band! I bet Blink-182 must have listened to it a great deal.

I just noticed the new "like" button, nice feature! I'm listening to the upbeat indie station on Spotify and there have been some great new bands to hear. This is one my brother asked about, I will post others too.
