And my other favorite: Darlene Love -- "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" Thanks for posting this Holly! I saw this was live on Letterman; any idea what year!? Her voice was still very very strong. Her and the Blossoms were the 'true voices' behind a couple of Crystals songs; one being 'He's A Rebel'. I might dig out the Best of Darlene Love cd I have!

John, I believe Darlene sang this song on Letterman every Christmas for several years -- it was his holiday tradition. I don't think he managed to do it last year, but I keep an eye out every year. Years ago, when I was reviewing records for my college newspaper, the record company sent me the Phil Spector Christmas album -- many girl group Christmas classics. I love them all! That is the sound of pop Christmas for me -- although many years later I also acquired a compilation titled Hot Rod Holiday with lots of lovely things by the Beach Boys, Fats Domino, Dion, and Chuck Berry -- another seasonal classic!
