Hello All, my first post here
On Fri October 5 2007 I met Ray Davies. 3 days later and I'm still buzzing. I went down to my local corner shop around 8pm to pick up some Ice cream for my girlfriend. the Shop was tiny and when he walked in I thought "he looks alot like... oh wait, it is him" I've been a fan since childhood and meeting him was such a thrill.
I thought at first not to bother him, then I thought sod it! I told him I've been a life long fan and I mentioned the Article in this months Uncut Magazine, and that I was looking forward to his new Album. He was very gracious and seemed genuinely touched by my appreciation. At this point I was so Nervous I had to leave. Wow.
I've met celebrities before, but this for me was the biggest, perhaps because it was so unexpected. I'll never forget it.

Conratulations Spaceboy, I bet it was a real Flash, I hope you didn't get "Spacedout". I think you did great, I've met him a few times and all I manage is to blurt out the most stupid words of general appreciation ... L

Welcome to the forum, spaceboy! Wow, that's so cool! North London seems to be chokka with celebs, but how ace to bump into Ray! So if you live in North London do you plan on coming to the Kinks Konvention in November in Tufnell Park? And any idea if the Clissold Arms is open again yet? Welcome, again!

I didn't offer him any ice cream, but he cautioned me on it. "highly addictive" were his words.
It's a week on, and I'm still buzzing. I've had nothing but the Kinks playing from my ipod since!

Hello spaceboy! Congtralutions on your serendiptious meeting and for having the courage to go up and say something to him! ;D The powers that be knew what a real fan you were and made your girlfriend crave ice cream at that precise moment. Now you must adhere to your girlfriend's every whim. I'm sure she would agree that is the moral here. Thanks for passing on the buzz.
