I heard that Ray's next album will be duets with other artists, and that Bruce Springsteen will be performing "Better Things" with him. I am looking forward to hearing this or for that matter anything else they perform...
But...don't you think that "Low Budget" or "20th Century Man" would better fit Bruce's vocal style and performance attitude? Just thinking out loud...
Is there information on other artists who will be on it, or when it will be out?

according to someone who dropped in on Ray last week he is mixing guitar over dubs for his new album, just not sure if it is the ne album of new material or the collaborations album of re-done kinks songs with other artists

The idea of Bruce Springsteen singing with Ray Davies makes me want to puke. I wonder when we will be able to understand anything thing springsteen mumbles. I grew up in the 60's and always loved Kinks music. Unfortunately, I heard 20th Century Man for the first time only weeks ago. What a great song. I think Ray should re-record it only call it 21st Century Man. The message is as relavent today as it was when he wrote it.

Hear, hear! (And welcome to the forum, lowry5670). You're absolutely right about how relevant that song still is.
I know that Bruce Springsteen has many fans, but I'm not one of them. Just don't get it. But don't get me started . . . .

I like what Dave says about Bruce on pages 253 - 254 of his autobiography, "Kink" Yep, 20th Century Man is still very relevant.

Most of Ray's songs actually become even more relevant with the passing of time...Ray is a Prophet
