To keep a long story short and to the point, Bill Shanley totally out did himself and every guitar player Ray has very played with ( except Dave of course ), he totally was playing at super human levels leaving me speechless which is not an easy thing to do , All of Ray's past guitar player have all been great players and very talented people, as well as really nice people who I still keep in contact with from time to time BUT I really have to give Bill the top honors, for hitting the perfect chemistry with Ray, and you can see and hear it in his playing Ray totally has confidence in Bill and pretty much gives him a lot of freedom. The last show at Agoura Hills Thursday night I was hugging Bill's stage monitor and leaning my head over it especially during the the encore with the 88, and the sound of Bill rocking out on the kinks songs, hearing it directly from the monitor was the closest, purest, rawest thing next to Dave I ever heard, it was beyong amazing, it was mind blowing, Bill is one of the nicest, shiest, and most humble guys you will ever find anywhere, and he makes what he does look effortless but he is one of the best guitar players I have ever seen bar none. Also Ray has managed to surround himself with the best and nicest support crew I have ever known, from his tour manager, roadies, sound and technical people, and personal assistant, they all are top notch great people who I can not wait to see again even if they were in town without Ray!

Frank is absolutly right, all the way. Bill is the coolest guy on earth and a hell of a guitar player. Here's a pic of Bill and me, taken in Ottawa. Attachments:

Yes, Bill is a lovely man I concur. We were lucky enuff to share a train ride back from The gig at Hampton Court to Waterloo Station. He was kind enough to stop and chat with Kevin and I afterwards and sign our program. Again in Chicago he spent som time chatting with Kevin about his band and guitars. What an amazing player and such a compliment to Ray and his band.
