Hi all! Thought we should have a special place for these...if it is redundant, just ignore. Here is the pithiest comment from OLGA in the KPS newsletter: Well Milton Keynes happened last night, so I expect the rest of the tour will follow.

Subject: Ray at The Stables
Went to see Ray and his band at the Stables, Milton Keynes last night and all I can say is that the rest has done him good. He was rocking and on top form, so were the band and boy was it loud - they weren't playing at 11, they went up to 12! New guitarist Milton McDonald was superb, you wouldn't have thought it was his first night, he fitted in so well--.and he looks good! Ray found it quite amusing that it was the first night of the tour and Milton's first date and they were playing Milton Keynes ---..a good omen me thinks!
Ray was sitting down and playing acoustic guitar for some of the time (maybe his doctor has told him to take it easy) but he seemed really comfortable about it and it certainly made him come across as more relaxed..........and friendly - laughing and joking with the audience. Someone yelled out "what's the band called" and he replied "The Other Ones"!
Ray did play one new song - well I've never heard it before - didn't say what it was called but it was all about his "experience of being assaulted in New Orleans" - pretty good too, similar style to his recent stuff.
The set was a mixture of Other Peoples Lives and Kinks standards but he has put new life into them and they sounded fantastic! Highlights for me were; Celluloid Heroes, Come Dancing and a brilliant version of Animal Farm. He also paid a nice tribute to "The Kinks - Mick, Pete and Dave"
I've seen Ray on every tour he's done and I reckon this is the best he's ever been. Don't know what it is but I think Milton has given Ray and the band a new lease of life. If you're going to see him on this tour you won't be disappointed.
And here's another:
Subject: RAY IN YORK
Ray was fantastic in york last night. He looked well and jumped about like a teenager. His band were awesome as well. My wife max and i had great seats on the front row where we shared the wonderful atmosphere with Olga,Sue,Jane and christine. Now, these ladies must be the most dedicated followers in the world, they were going to all rays concerts on this tour, how about that.we really enjoyed being with them what a great bunch i hope they keep in touch. just one new song from Ray which i loved. Ray spoke affectionately about Dave Pete and Mick and said he had been talking to them recently and i really think there could be something happening. all in all a great night with a full house and great company.

Phenomenal Cat. I'd give my eye-teeth to see Ray sing that. Wonder if it was written on a plate?

I'll see what I can do about getting any kind of clues or inclinations from him while in the UK about any possible dates over here in the future If I had to guess though I would think it won't be until after the summer at the very earliest, and more likely a fall/winter tour. Just what I need to freeze my butt off again on the east coast in the winter!

YIKES...I better leave for Newark International a little early while I still have a head left...I think I'm exempt from prosecution in the U.K. and besides I have Blamo and Ray to protect me there!

While you're at it Frank, drop a few hints that there are some lovely venues in Wellington NZ that he could play . *is desperate for a Ray gig down here!*
