15 years ago I received the following message: Date: Tue, 8 Mar 94 17:32:42 EST From: "Dave Emlen" <dte@.cs.rit.edu> Subject: Kinks WWW server
For those of you on the internet and familiar with the World Wide Web, you might want to try out a Kinks HTTP server I've been building in my spare time:
hobbes.cs.rit.edu/kinks/kinks.html
Let me know what you think...
-Davee

Now, 15 years later we got together to let Dave know know what we think. There will be a series of special mailings sent out over the next week and maybe longer.
Thanks for all you've done.
Neil

Here's another quick introductory note:
"Happy 15th Anniversary Dave! Some of us have got together to send you our greetings. We hope you enjoy reading the messages from your "fans".... :-)
Olga"
This is my Tribute... hope to read yours on the digest soon! BTW.. Neil & Olga are still compiling, so it's not too late to add yours! Neil Ottenstein <neil@kinks.it.rit.edu> Smiley ;D

From Our Own Beloved Forum KinK-o's
ROSE AUFIERO
It was well into the 21st century I first found Dave's Kinks Web Site and what a happy day that was! A fountain of information that is consistently updated with news, photos, tour dates, new releases...! One-stop shopping! It's magical! And that lyric search? Priceless! For one more dedicated follower who had wandered the earth in seemingly solitary adoration of all things KinKs, finding Dave's site assured me I was not alone. Still does. Cheers & thanks much, Dave.
HOLLY HUGHES
Many thanks to Dave Emlen for being such a dedicated follower of that unfashionable band known as the Kinks. For over 15 years, thanks to your labour of love, we Kinks fans have been able to access song lyrics, discography, photos of fans and events, and every scrap of Kinks and Kinks-related news possible, all in one handy internet site. Our tight-knit community of Kinks fans is forever in your debt.

Dave, my most sincere congratulations for having what for me is the best site of all the internet. I don't think there is any rock band with such an "obvious" place to get all the news and info fans need.
Normally most webs last for a few months, until the owner gets tired of it and stops updating it. But you can proudly say (like Neil with the KPS), this has never happened to you: It's very easy to get excited about a new project, but it's very hard to make it last and keep it at the top for 15 years, and you've certainly made it, and I'm sure you'll make it the next 15.
I guess everybody will have a favourite feature from the web, mine is the Chords section in which I've spent hundreds of hours and I've had a lot of fun.
So thank you very much, and congratulations not only for being the best Kinks site on the internet, or for being always the first person to get most important news, or for being the first reference for most Kinks fans, or for helping me to improve my playing. Thanks also for being my home page for more than 7 years!

Hi Dave, I would like to congratulate & thank you for still running the Unofficial Kinks Website. It has grown a lot in the 15 years it has been going, and I know that all the Kinks fans love to keep up with what's happening to The Kinks (and Kast Off Kinks) as do members of The Kinks. I always have a look at your site at least two or three times a week. So keep the good work up,
