BJohn, all my best that he stays fit, active and at his FIGHTING weight! Thanks Smiley ! Hmm, he'd be in the super middleweight boxing division now, I believe ! I think the ultimate goal is light heavyweight, which is around 175 pounds! Fortunately, he's not having to fight near as hard as just a year ago to stay/get fit and gain weight !

Things are way too quiet here with Martin off on holiday. And now Kinkcan and MrLennie are going off on hols too! It's not fair! We must soldier on in their absence.

Saw two butterflies today, one blue, one yellow. Summer bliss.

My favourite was called a Red Admiral Sadly I've rarely seen any in recent summers, I reckon its because of all the pesticides that the farmers use

They blink their body 'lights' on and off sort of like Christmas tree lights. It's kind of cool to watch when there are a lot of 'em out flashing!

Cool! I've heard of fire flies but I've never seen them. Not sure if we have them over here or not

Loads of Fireflies in the garden this year. I love they way they light up the evening -- it's really a spectacular site each night. Yes, we did the same as kids but they never did light up in the jar once we caught them. The butterflies have just come back in the last 2 years around here. We were hit very hard with the West Nile virus a few years back and it killed off so many birds, butterflies and insects. I have a new family of Cardinals and the Male bird is the brightest red I've ever seen. He's also quite the songbird.

How sweet that you have your very own Mr Songbird Smiley! At the nursing home that I visit there's a blackbird that often sits at the top of a tall tree and sings I still haven't seen any butterflys so far I can't believe how many we used to have in our garden when I was little, I'm lucky if I see 5 or 6 a year now. I often wake up to hear the birds singing though
