i was listening to the great lost kinks album this morning and this song got me thinking that as i am approaching 50(6 months away but who's counting) i'm beginning to have some of the symptoms that ray wrote about ;D. ;D ;D. another example of ray's great writing ability and his dark humor.

This is a wonderful song, for a lot of time it was my favourite from TGLKA. But I'm sure that even if you feel some of the symptoms your spring hasn't gone yet.

We were in a bar in Austin Texas when Where did my Spring go came on, or was it Did you see his name anyway it came on the juke box ( they had Kronikles on their box ) and Ray turned to me and said something to the effect of it's amazing what compression ( a studio effect ) can do to your voice and then he just smiled

It would be pretty funny if Ray had written it when he was 50. But how old was he when he did write it? 26, 27? That's what kills me.

Where did my spring go? It went somewhere, though I'm not sure where that place is.
All I know is it happened slowly, very slowly, over fifty-four years...
Live it up, my friend doni, youre still young!
