My favorite song on this album is "Stop Your Sobbin'." Of course we all love "You Really Got Me," the song that started it all, but with so many cover songs on this hastily recorded LP, it's wonderful to see how the few Davies gems really stand out.
admittedly, "Stop Your Sobbin'" is a weird song, with some prickly punk sentiments (no wonder the Pretenders wanted to cover it years later). It's hardly a romantic love song -- but then, the Kinks were never much for romantic love songs.
What do you think?

The Kinks Debut Album was recorded under huge pressure and in a very short amount of time. It’s a great Beat/Pop record with a positive spirit. I still listen to it today.
Favourite tracks – „You Really Got Me“ ? No, not really! I always appreciated „All Day And All Of The Night“, „Till The End Of The Day“ and „I Need You“ much more. „Stob Your Sobbin‘“ is a typical Merseybeatish influenced pop song of the 60’s – a beautiful, quiet and romantic song. „So Mystifying“ is an outstanding early Ray Davies tune having stood the test of the time still mystifying me! My favourite song of the whole album is „I Took My Baby Home“ the first Kinks song that I had ever heard in mid 1964 while being on my summer holidays in a children’s camp. Didn’t know that it were The Kinks then, but I immediately took to the song. A carefree song with a latin touch! Since then I am a Kinks fan!
Love „Cadillac“ from all the rhythm and blues covers best!
