I know that every time either Ray or Dave is interviewed, the interviewer just HAS to ask about the chances of a reunion. But I thought it might be fun to put those interviews together in this thread. Here's Dave's September 2015 interview for Rolling Stone: Dave Says There's Still a Chance

A Kinks Reunion? Technically, a potential reunion should have taken place already years ago. Today’s momentum is gone definitely and the Davies brothers have missed the bus. Instead of boring us with endless and preposterous talks in the last couple of years about the ifs and whens of a possible get-to-together it would have been nice if they had just delivered the goods - a new Kinks studio recording that is. But they didn’t; they failed to live up to the fans’ year-long secret hopes and longings! I’m not even sure if The Kinks are still marketable in 2016 as 2015 is slowly coming to a close! The market has changed tremendously and it can be cruel! As a musical unit The Kinks are defunct. I shall remember them as one of the finest bands ever that has emerged in the 60’s and as a group that had a tremendous impact musically and lyrically worldwide; timeless Rock History was written over the decades! The Kinks belong to where they came from – to the past! Thank you for the days and for having created such a huge musical body of work! Long Live The Kinks And Kinkdom!

Well said Martin. The Kinks have blown this opportunity. Jagger would never blow a money making opportunity like this! But isn't that the reason we love the Kinks? In addition to the superior KINKS music,we enjoy this band and it's unique personality. They're not like everybody else.

While I agree with many things you say, Martin, I do still believe that if Ray and Dave could ever agree to do this, that it would attract large and enthusiastic audiences. Perhaps they couldn't fill Madison Square Garden or the O2 arena -- but then, I personally have no interest in fighting the crowds to see them in such venues. I do believe that they could still be relevant and that their own high standards would guarantee that they'd deliver a worthy product, not some sad oldies act.
Call me a dreamer, but I'm still hoping!
