He sold out in PHilly too Yep. But they added another night. I haven't bought tickets yet. Hopefully there'll still be "cheap" seats ($65) left by the time my next paycheck comes.

I especially liked Neil Young & the Bluenotes "This Note's For You." seems I am in the minority on that one as I don't think it sold very well. fun, upbeat record. I LOVE that album!

I'm the black sheep here, and will probably be lapidated by you all. I appreciate NY, but he's not in my top ten or twenty, or thirty. I don't think comparisons with Bob Dylan are really in order. I can't stand the tortured theatrical faces he puts when he plays a solo. I think he is responsible of the most idiotic concerts I have ever presenced: The TRANS tour in1983. On the other hand, I believe he has recorded two of my favorite albums ever: After the Gold rush and On the Beach. L

Interesting, Luis. I don't think Neil knows he's making those faces when he plays. He does have epilepsy, you know (hence the nickname Shakey). Anyway, if he cared what he looks like when he plays, he'd probably comb his hair before going on stage.

Who cares what faces he pulls? Still one of the greatest!

Luis, Trans was perhaps his worst album--a silly indulgence into electronics. It's not at all representative of his other work. After the Gold Rush and On the Beach are indeed superb albums. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform twice on his current 6 night stand in New York City and they were both brilliant! I won't repost my lengthy review of the first show (Neils second performance in NYC). For those interested, it can read be found on the gray board: raydavies.3.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=3597&st=27

Dave, I'm sure the concert was as fantastic as you say, I've no doubt; most of all I'm happy for you and the great time you had. You're all probably right, I should revisit old Neil.
