Time flies - it was exactly 5 years ago when I joined The Red Board on August 2nd, 2010. What an interesting, funny and compelling journey it has been so far! Having been aboard on a permanent basis I was able to witness the forum’s development with all the ups and downs over the years. I would love to thank especially bamajohn1 for having come up with substantial postings which enrichened the forum (welcome to the club, John!). We all learnt a great deal from him! Pity that he doesn’t post that much as he used to – but life sometimes takes different directions and new priorities have to be set accordingly (the same goes for me but I still find a little time to come up with something occasionally). Btw - it would be great to welcome new and regular forumers to the board! Long live KINKDOM! Take care everybody. Best, Martin53

Has it really been that long? Wow. And yet, it feels so like home, it could have been longer.
I agree, it's always great to have new forumers aboard.

I did realize it must be close to your 5 year anniv. because you joined right before Sleepwalker in Aug. 2010, then I joined in Sept. My life and routine is almost identical to were it was 5 years ago. I was a full time caregiver for my father who had come through a near death condition and was slowly recovering. My dad is now recovering from a serious but not as threatening condition currently. I have not been here as much partly because of that; but honestly, it was a much different board here 5 years ago when I joined. If there was that kind of board activity here now, I'd be here more. No doubt. I would bet many others routines have changed though; and unfortunately, some of the discretionary time that they might have spent here is used on social media. I remember you becoming the Chairmen of the Board by Christmas time that year (2010). Do you happen to qualify as an 'Old Blue Eyes' by the way? I recall having a two year anniversary thread; well it's been almost three years ago!! There was a lot of activity in that first two years and much of the goings on are still vivid in my mind. I hope that all of our friends who have departed the forum are doing well. Yes, it would be nice to have some new members join and become fixtures here! Here's to a another 5 years of joy, fun, and knowledgeable exchange here for you Martin!

It’s never too late to join the party, John! Welcome! Thank you for your kind words, just another classy posting! What more can one expect from you. I’m optimistic about the board. And it would be great to see you contributing again occasionally on the « Name The Artist and Fact Or Fiction » threads. Not today, not tomorrow, but in the foreseeable future. Exciting threads once initiated by you – that’s already a slight commitment, isn’t it? And, after all, you just cannot leave your little virtual babies alone, can you? No, seriously, have a go. It’s like in real life – give and receive. I wish you and your family all the best and tons of success in whatever you do. Take care! PS: I was actually already born a qualified « Old Blue Eyes ». You are still a fan of the « Rat Pack », aren’t you? Cool!

Hey there 16!
It's good to see you back and that you are doing well!
My dad has recently undergone surgery for a condition he had a year ago and had surgery for that came back over this summer! The recovery is going good. I sure hope this does not come back again though!
Oh by the way, will it be your 32nd case of deja voodoo on your birthday later this year when you experience once again, being 16oncemore? LOL

Fantastic! The Kinks Quiz just passed 14000 hits! Amazing!
Thanks to everybody actively involved…
…and a very special BIG THANK YOU goes out to Lorendavies who reactivated the thread with such an impressive verve on July 6th 2016. Without him this milestone would not have been possible at all so soon!
So stay tuned all you Kinksters as there’s a lot more of exciting stuff to be discovered in KINKDOM!
PS – the new game starts today!
