Thanks for welcome, Sleepwalker. This was the first time I’d seen a whole Ray performance though I did know what to expect from reports from others. But sometimes it seems that crowds at festivals just want to hear themselves and see themselves, if at all possible, rather than the people on stage. I have booked to see some of Ray’s solo shows and I'm hoping the singing along will be a little more muted. Otherwise blood may very well be shed. I went to see a great Frank Sinatra imitator once – he was so authentic and sang with such style and pathos, only to be drowned out by two boozed-up floozies next to us on the balcony who insisted on singing along at maximum volume to every single song. They’re lucky they didn't go over the balcony, honestly.

You're welcome Badger Yeah, I'm inclined to agree about crowds at festivals, although I can't deny the fact that I always sing along when I see Ray! Of course I can't guarantee that folks won't sing at his solo shows (I know I won't be able to help myself!) but I'm sure it'll be a good deal more tuneful as obviously people are just there to see Ray. Do you mind me asking which of Ray's shows you are going to, I'm assuming you're reffering to his UK tour in October and not his upcoming US one? I have tickets for four shows in October. If these are your first Ray shows then you're in for a treat and I'm sure you'll have a great time!! Sorry that you had a bad experience seeing that Sinatra imitator I usually have a drink or two myself at shows, although I prefer to have a few afterwards, rather then before, I see little point in getting totally wasted before seeing a show, you're only going to forget all the important details later! Have you had a look around the board? People are friendly here so do feel free to post on any threads that you fancy getting involved in

I have tickets for the Manchester, Gateshead, York and Birmingham shows. I was considering one more but it seems that all the good tickets are gone now so I'm not sure... I have front row seats for two of the shows - but I forget which two! I'm looking foward to them a lot too - roll on October!

Oh, I'm the USA right now. Wish I could make it to some of this autumn's shows! I just noticed that the shows you were going to are mostly in southeast England. I've spent a lot of time in Kent but live in New York City now.
