How cool is that?! I'm sure a lot of people will ask you what it "means" -- it looks a bit like some odd Arabic script. You can make up all sorts of cheeky answers!

You're welcome Powerman! I wanted to share the photos etc, as I thought people who couldn't go would like to know how it was. Yes, I had a wonderful time, but everytime I do anything like this I always wish that all the great people I talk to here were there too!!

Holly, I guess people will notice it as it's a pretty big tattoo and those who aren't in the know may wonder what it means! I'm wondering what my mum will say... I told her I was going to have it done and knowing what I'm like she didn't seem that surprised, but I'm sure she thinks I'm a tad obsessed...

Sleepy, as I've told you, I thoroughly enjoyed your review; you did help me get a feel of how it was to be there! That and the wonderful photos Pete took! He might ought to consider photography! I did get a big kick out of your expression when Ray was signing your arm! You look well and healthy, by the way! I'll be honest, I think you are right to be braced for some reactions from folks and your mum, in particular! I'll talk to you about that, my friend!

Thanks Uncle! I'm glad you approve! Thanks so much John, I'm glad you liked my review so much! Yeah, Pete was really proud of the photos he took, he knows how much these things mean to me which spurs him on to do his very best when taking these shots I'll be sure to let him know that you think he'd be a good photographer! Thanks for saying I look well, John! And I'm glad you got a kick out of that photo, I think my expression is quite funny Pete is quite proud of that photo! Oh John, I'm not that worried about mum's reaction to the tattoo. To be fair to her she's usually pretty cool about stuff like this, and it's not as if I don't have a fair few already! I don't regret having it done and I'm not really too fussed about what people think, I've had a few negative reactions to my slightly eccentic and ecleptic 'style' over the years so I'm prepared for that! But of course I don't mind you telling me waht you think about it, privately!

Hello everybody!
As Sleepwalker said I promised I'd post my impressions about the Come Dancing musical so I will. I'm still recovering from it, it was definitely one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen and even if I expected something really good I could have never imagined something as wonderful as it.
Since I made the effort to go to London to see it I decided to go to all three shows. Because of my flight, on Friday I didn't know if I'd be able to make it on time but in the end I only arrived about 5 minutes late (it could had been much worse). The show was great, because of my relatively poor English I got the general idea of the plot but I missed many things and I didn't understand some of the details. But on Saturday it was totally different. I had met two very important friends for me in the morning (no Kinks relation), I hadn't seen them in person for almost two years and it was all very emotive, so I was already a bit in a sensitive mood even before the show. When I saw it the second and third time… It was magical. I got the full picture and it was really moving, luckily Jayne had already warned us to bring the tissues. I hadn't cried so much in years and I saw many other people who were there also did.
As Sleepwalker explained, for those who haven't seen it yet in the story Ray was the narrator and also the smallest child in his family (his three sisters were Rose, Brenda and Julie). Every Saturday night his parents and his two biggest sisters went to the Palais to dance and the day the story starts is a very important day because it's Julie's birthday and it's the first time she'll go with them. She's very nervous as she had the polio a few years ago and she doesn't know if she'll be able to dance properly, she's also very worried about the local boys because she won't know what to do if any of them asks her to dance.
The story follows the next months in Julie's life and how much suddenly everything changes. I don't want to tell you more about the plot but it's amazing because it covers so many subjects very deeply, in a way only Ray can: Love, hatred, friendship, family relationships, lies, racism, impossible dreams, hidden secrets, death... Simply amazing. And all the songs were very good, hear them three times and most of them will be stuck in your head for days. You could see how much this show meant to Ray, how proud he is of it and it was amazing to have him in the stage of a theatre a few meters away from you trying to hide how touching it was for him as well. He can't let this show die, it's too good. It must be repeated or captured in some way or another.
As always one of the best thing about Kinks events was seeing some old friends (Olga, Jayne, Debbie, Christine, the Dutch fans...) and also to meet some people for the first time in real life like Xray James (who had come from much further than me), Dawn, David, Penny or Sleepwalker (good to see the tattoo idea worked!). And of course getting to say hello to Ray and Mick was also a big thrill.
So as you see it was a wonderful experience altogether. It's only been a week and I can't wait to Come Dancing again!

It's good to hear from you Inaki ! Thank you very much for reviewing the show so well. I'm sure you've had a great time and I'm a little bit jealous. I wish I could have been there.
See you sometime Inaki.

Lovely to hear from you Inakink and thankyou for your great review! Your English seems just fine to me, after reading your wonderful review! It was a great night wasn't it? And you're right, this show DOES need to be repeated, and I'd like it to be recorded too. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope that Ray will at some point release the songs from the show officially. It was nice to see you there and I hope you got home safely Yes, the tattoo idea worked - I just wish it would hurry up and heal! Please don't be a stranger Inakink, drop by when you can!
