Couldn't find a thread on The Who, apologies if there is one.
So to get the ball rolling, older who is vastly superior to later Who their first 3 albums My Generation A Quick One & Sell Out in my opinion are they're best albums, those early years of the Who are criminally overlooked .
Here a classic track from the best Who alnum A Quick One

Sell Out is a cracking album, particularly like the artwork! Did anyone here that pete townshend sold the Who's back catalogue to spirit, looks like we'll be getting yet more Who reissue's.

I love The Who as well--especially the early stuff. Sell Out is a favorite, but I also think they are smashing up to and including Quadrophenia. After Quadrophenia...meh.
One of the many things I love about the Who is their sense of humor (particularly Entwistle's).

I agree that Sell Out was their finest moment, although Who's Next also worked for me. Quadrophenia really jumped the shark IMO.

Congratulations on your new great thread, Micheal! My favourite Who albums are Tommy, Who's Next, Quadrophenia and The Who By Numbers. The albums show the band at their very best.

I'm also a fan of Entwistle's early solo stuff, particularly the album "Rigor Mortis Sets In."

Yes! My favorite solo albums of Entwistle are "Whistle Rymes" and "Smash Your Head Against the Wall." "I Feel Better" is one of the best break up songs of all time. I also love Entwistle's voice and his horn playing on both his own and the Who's work.

Im a big fan of Entwistle. Love his songs, his wit, his voice and his exceptional bass playing.
And Like Holly, Whos Next is their second best album following Sell Out.
Entwisltle and Moon, greatest bass player, and drummer ever!
