my hobby is writing songs because Ray himself has tought me writing songs and is it any wonder that my songs sound a little bit kinky?

Did you attend his songwriting course, hofner? I've always wanted to do that.

That`s right! I attented a songwritercours at Arvon in England in the vicinity of Ludlow. Ray has corrected my works on the paper with his pen and suggested me "use an Fsharp minor instead of an A!" and so on. Now I got leadsheets marked with his correctionsigns. It`s a very funny souvenier. And I used the breaks during our songwritingsessions to talk about all the things I always wanted to know and I could never read that anywhere before ever. It was a great time and he taught me a lot. But I attended more songwriting courses for example with Tim Firth (make of film Calendar Girls). He is another great Artist as well. Well now when I perform one of my songs I always hear from the audience: "Hey it sounds like Beatles or Kinks. Is it an unreleased song of them?" You see you can`t do anything against those influences. But I was influenced by Ray a long time ago before I applied the songwriting course with him. And so my workexamples for the Ray course were very Ray-style-related. Mabe that was it that I could qualify myself for ray`s course. Anyway it was very very good for me.

It's nice to hear from someone who has learned at Ray's feet (so to speak). Songwriting is more than a hobby with you -- am I right?

Glad to have you here, Justine!! Both my dog and my cat were rescue/shelter finds, so kudos to you for supporting that work!
