This is very cool! I think most of us here love Monty Python and the more popular brit comedy's. I'm a big Black Adder and Little Britain Fan as well. As for the Garden, I'm very jealous of your varieties Bub. My hubbie takes care of the eating plants and I take care of the flowers round the house. We just canned the last of the beets and it looks like the tomatoes have run their course. Sad, but it was a pretty good year. I've got about 6 bags of green beans in the freezer. Yum!

It's great that you do canning, Smiley! I'm currently trying to find the time to learn how to can and lacto-ferment. More people in San Diego (and around the Country) are getting rid of their lawns and planting food...it's great! Especially here where water is scarce and getting scarcer. Here's a photo I took today of some of my garden's produce. The pic is a bit washed out, the fruits / veggies look much more vibrant in person. That little shrivelled guy in the front is a passion fruit--and he has to get a bit more shrivelled to taste his best. ;D Attachments:

It's a kabocha squash, Japanese variety of pumpkin. Green on the outside and orange in the middle and very sweet and yummy. This particular specimen is the runt of the litter; there are other squashes still on the vine that are larger. I had to take that one off so the others would do better.

Thanks for the info Bub, I was sure it had to somehow be related to a pumpkin! Do you ever grow pumpkins?

This is my first season growing anything! But pumpkins are on the list in the future. In September I went to the 1st annual heirloom veggie and fruit festival here in the states and many of the folks there had amazing pumpkins and gourds. As a matter of fact there was a huge pile of all different kinds of gourds that was mind-blowing. I'll have to find a photo of it to post.
