I'm not sure about this one John! I haven't heard the first 2 names Uncleson mentioned, but I've definately heard that the Beatles were called The Silver Beetles, and the Quarrymen too. So I'll say fiction? ( Knowing how much you know about music though, I won't be too suprised if I'm wrong! )

Thanks uncleson!
Fanny is often cited as the first all female rock band and were the first to sign with a major label. David Bowie said this:
'One of the most important female bands in American rock has been buried without a trace. And that is Fanny. They were one of the finest... rock bands of their time, in about 1973. They were extraordinary... they're as important as anybody else who's ever been, ever; it just wasn't their time'

Thanks
From 1957 to 1962, I had 30 Top-40 hits, more than any other artist except Presley and Pat Boone. In 1959, I received a Golden Globe Most Promising Male Newcomer nomination.

I thought I'd go ahead and answer even though I feel a bit guilty as I have his boxset which explicitly talks about this chart action in it's very detailed booklet! I'll answer in the form of the game: It's a FACT that you are Rick(y) Nelson ?

Thanks uncleson ! When Gene Clark first approached Jim McGuinn in 1964 about working together in a group that would eventually evolve into the Byrds, he suggested that they could form a Peter & Gordon styled act! Fact of Fiction ?
