You'll like FOW, Luis -- they sound like a 60s band anyway. Why else do you think Inaki likes them? Hey! That's not the reason! I'm not so stuck in the past, there are a lot of modern bands I love! Yeah, I think there was another one... I don't remember their name but I'm a very big fan! ;D

I love The fountains of Wayne too. Theyve been at it since 96 or so so theyre not all that new. Inaki, you have to put Hey Julie on that comp cd. One of my all time favorites!

By "new" bands, is this like the past 4 years or so? I *adore*
The Libertines Dirty Pretty Things Yeti (see a running theme of Libertines bands here?) Kings Of Leon Johnny Marr and the Healers
I like the new Babyshambles CD but hated the first one. There's a fair few bands that have popped up recently that I adore!

Vampire Weekend
did I mention Of Montreal? seriously fine
Oh, do The Strokes count? I love everything of theirs I've heard.
My daughter tells me I have to add Panic at the Disco (new album just came out, I've heard it about a zillion times now) and Paramore.

There are a lot of very good young bands. In no particular order:
Arcade Fire Besnard Lakes Los Lonely Boys--really liked their first album and not much else so far Drive-By Truckers--Have been around for awhile (mid 90s), but I've just discovered them. Derek Trucks Bands--not exactly new either, but DT may be the best guitarist on the planet Steve Malkmus and the Jicks (just missed them in NYC) Iron and Wine--also not so new, but I've just discovered them
Like Vampire Weekend, but they haven't blown me away. They were fun live. I am "Of Montreal" myself :-) , but I didn't dig the bands earler releases and haven't heard the new one yet.

My son is really into Arcade Fire. His band does covers of some of their songs, which I really like.
Los Lonely Boys were fun at first, weren't they? Haven't heard much lately...I do like the first Iron & Wine stuff but now that he's not recording solo in his basement anymore it isn't quite as fresh and quirky.
