Ok, I know this is a pretty daft thread that will probably run it's course pretty quickly, but I couldn't resist! ;D I believe that Ray must have a real liking for tea, he mentions it in songs pretty often! I thought it might be fun to list all the tea related lyrics - anything from Afternoon Tea or Have A Cuppa Tea are out as their too obvious! I'll start - And my feet are nearly frozen Boil the tea and put some toast on (Dead End Street) I can think of more but I'll see what others come up with - I hope someone else posts here so I don't feel too silly!

I think about that small café That's where we used to meet each day And then we used to sit a while And drink our afternoon tea

Cute idea for a thread!!
Here's a verse from Life After Breakfast that I've always loved:
Cheer up son, put on the kettle There's no point in being glum Make your mind up, try to forget her Boil the tea and I'll be mum

And from Autumn Almanac
Tea and toasted, buttered currant buns Can't compensate for lack of sun, Because the summer's all gone.

From Daylight:
See the early morning risers walking round with bleary eyes. Worn out housewives grit their teeth ignoring new born babies' cries. Look at all the busy people this way, that way, everywhere Biting toast and swallowing tea and breakfast specials on the air. Feel that daylight

No need to aplogise Uncleson! ;D I still have a few in mind, hadn't thought of those Daylight lyrics - good work! From Shangri-La - The neighbours call and tell you things that you should know They say their lines, they drink their tea and then they go

And she stirs the tea with councilors While discussing foreign trade

People also drink tea in their little Shangri-la:
The neighbors call to tell you things that you should know They say their lines, they drink their tea, and then they go

Great additions everyone! I still have a few in reserve - although you beat me to some of them! From Motorway - Motorway tea is warm and wet The rain is pouring and it's four in the morning And it's all I can get

From Lavender Hill -
While people eat their biscuits with tea They dream of daffodils that sway in the breeze
