Sleepwalker This song of the seventies should have been one of the most radiated songs of all time and the best known songs of the seventies. It's the perfect single for any band.

I’m not that fond of the song „Sleepwalker“. It could have been the perfect single for any band but it could have been written by anybody.
The album of the same name per se however is a powerful and convincing return to straight-forward rock songs excellently conceived and produced. It was Part 1 of The Kinks Rock-Trilogy heralding the arena rock phase for the band (followed by „Misfits“ and „Low Budget“).

By the way great trilogy and possibly the best albums with the label Arista.

The Arista Years were a great period for the band.

Martin, in my opinion all times of The Kinks were fantastic and very creative. Of the few most reliable groups in contemporary music.

I’m with you Loren.
My statement didn’t imply the contrary.
Hence talking about the Arista Years they had to be given the respective credit for.

Martin!! In my humble opinion, The Kinks do not have bad and not even mediocre albums until the mid-1980s until its dissolution. The different stages made them do many masterpieces and albums very good, and some of them very misunderstood by the creative evolution and diversity of sound that was what made them unique.

I quite agree, Loren! And even on those last albums there were many gems.

It's true, HollyH! Although in his last years had a significant creative wear, which is normal !!!, you can not be 25 years without a bad album and more in Ray Davies that took one album per year and sometimes two and one of them was double. And yet he continued to pull out huge songs, such as Lost And Found, How Are You, The Road, War Is Over, Now And Then, Still Searching ect .... many more though their albums are of scarcest creation.
