it should make the list... Ray pioneered the Rock Opera with Arthur!!! Gads.. some of the others are yuckie. I'm not really happy about what they had to say about it. Comparing RD to Brian Wilson & The Who's Tommy

You're right, indisgrace! The Who's "Quadrophenia" belongs definitely to the list of the Top 10 Greatest Rock operas of all time! The Pretty Things' "S.F.Sorrow" is a genuine candidate too!

To me, "Quadrophenia" is the Who's best work. Dense, complicated, filled with deep emotion and musical layers. Even makes synthesizers sound great!

I couldn't agree more with you!
"Quadrophenia" is the Who's masterpiece - lyrically, musically and from the songwriting viewpoint. It's a milestone!

I'm in total agreement about Quadrophenia. It's my favourite work by Pete and the Who. It's much better crafted than Tommy. It really reflects the time and what a gifted, mature song writer Pete had become.

Quadrophenia has always been a favorite. I like it much more than Tommy. SF Sorrow is generally considered to be the first Rock Opera... Should at least get a mention!

my son read an article yesterday that really made me excited. Pete is remastering Quadrophenia and is planning to tour with the Who playing the rock opera in it's entirety!! Wow, I can't wait for that show!!!!!

Comparing RD to Brian Wilson & The Who's Tommy Agreed. I do consider face To face to be kind of a rock opera. Arthur should be number 1.

Seconded, Uncleson!
Arthur should be number 1! It's just a perfect album with great lyrics and excellent music. And, again, The Kinks were ahead of their time!
