Okay, I got you on the sticker. Thanks!
That sucks about Disraeli Gears, but you're a smart one to upgrade. Totally worth it, especially now that it's come down in price some. I got it new for $19.99.
On to Pink Floyd....very cool they're re-releasing their whole catalogue. Seems like a good price, too. Not really sure what 9 pounds is in dollars.

pink floyd is rereleasing dark side and wish you were here deluxe packages in the fall. both are containning live material from the tours in support of the releases. i wish that the kinks rereleases were like this. Donl, that's a good point! I personally do opt very strongly for a "Kinks Boxset Picture Book Volume 2"! It would be the perfect vehicle containg still unreleased and great material.

You can tear the deluxe edition sign off i did it with mine does no damage at all its not a sticker that would leave a mess, its one of those types that is supposed to come off, youll know what i mean you got an album I think I do know what you're saying. I just picked up the 2-disc deluxe edition of Disraeli Gears today, and it had an identical banner across the bottom of the cover. I did happen to notice that it was just a clear exterior sleeve over the album art, and is removable. This is what you mean? I'm going to assume that the Kinks sets are the same. By the way, any of you who are Cream fans should pick up that Disraeli Gears set, it's incredible. Disc 1 is stereo, disc 2 is mono; the bonus tracks are phenomenal. There's an outtake of "We're Going Wrong" on disc 1 that absolutely blows away the album version, I think it might be the best track they've ever recorded. The artwork included is absolutely amazing, as well. Jrich7720, I just want to congratulate you on having bought the "Cream Disraeli Gears Deluxe Edition"! It's an amazing and impressive product, a must to have! Well done! I take that the release of a "Kinks Boxset Picture Book Volume 2" is just a matter of time!

Meddle, that's my fav too. That would be a killer remaster. Hope it would some of live tracks as well. We already have Live in Pompeii but throw it in anyways!!
How many copies of Dark Side can we have? Now, I'd love the "Wish You Were Here" remaster but if I have to buy Dark Side again, what's the point?! Thanks for the info on the Cream, Disraeli Gears remaster. Just another CD in queue. I need to win the lotto.

Smiley, Pink Floyd's "Meddle" features the seminal track "Echoes" that filled a complete side of the original vinyl release. The new version presents the original studio album, digitally remastered by James Guthrie and reissued with newly designed Digipak and a new 12 page booklet designed by Storm Thorgerson.

All these re-releases tell me one thing -- that the record companies have given up on new music and are just desperately repackaging old stuff, because the baby boomers are the only people still buying physical CDs. And they assume that all we want is to hear our old favorite artists singing old familiar songs -- even new material from those artists isn't valued, because -- horrors! -- it might not sell. (Of course they'd have to be willing to invest in promoting it, but why spend money when you've got time-tested material lying in your vaults?) They're soaking us for every dollar, pound, euro, and yen we have!

Thanks for the info, Donl. I posted in-depth and detailed information about the imminent Pink Floyd re-releases on the "Comprehensive Artist Collection Recommendations" thread. Which forum is that thread located in? It seems that all 14 albums will be released as single-disc "Discovery" sets, with 3 albums getting both a 2-disc "Experience" set and a 6-disc "Immersion" set. Is this correct? I wish they'd offer such sets for all 14 albums, especially Piper, Meddle, and Animals.
