I remember seeing this a few months ago and had forgotten about until I saw it on MTVU last night. I did not realize it is such a big hit. I've always been a sucker for redheads so I kind of find this irresistible LOL! Tim told me he has been a fan of Walk the Moon for awhile.

A new great band with an appealing song, John – I’ll check them out. It sounds as if they bring back the 80’s?

Here’s a fine, pure and perfect pop song that stood the test of the time done by one of the most famous and prolific Dutch bands ever:

As far as I know the band’s name derives from The Police’s song „Walking On The Moon“. What a better homage to a great 80’s band can one expect!

This was on a power pop mix cd Tim made for our now weekly Saturday night listening parties under the stars. Drowning In the Sea of Love - The Adventures

Great band, John! Is The Church's "Under The Milky Way" included in Tim's power pop mix? Btw - LOVE listening parties under the stars!

Martin, Under the Milky Way was not on that cd but is a staple on some of my dreamy Britpop oriented mix cds. It's on one of Tim's too. I hope the weather holds up this Saturday for another party! Tim and I were watching this show on the local public tv station out of B'ham that that replays a live concert each week from indie sort of bands at the Bottletree Cafe. The acts are not normally that good but we were shocked to see this explosive and melodic trio called Ex Hex recently. They played the Bottletree in early January, fortunately, before it closed. The lead singer Mary Timmony is apparently pretty well known for being in Helium, Wild Flag, and solo. The reviews say Ex Hex is more straightforward pop punk/power pop than her other projects. The members look older than a typical new band would have as they've been around awhile in other bands. Ex Hex's lp 'Rips' has gotten rave rewiews. This tune is a little more complex than the other songs and shows off their musicianship pretty well! War Paint - Ex Hex

Wow! I flipped the dial over to VH1 Classic and Totally 80s was coming on. I wasn't expecting to see Blood and Roses by The Smithereens come on! It's a great song but not one of the big Top 40 hits that they usually play on there; it might have charted on whatever there have been that surveyed what was passing as alternative rock radio at the time! I actually prefer the raw demo version on Attack of the Smithereens; a record that features their cover 'The World Keeps Goin' Round' and their invite to Graham Parker to come on stage and sing Behind the Wall of Sleep with the band.
Here's the studio/video version!

On the Vinyl Singles thread, I was just talking about how some of my fav tunes in the 80s barely skimmed the Top 40 and how I'd try to track them down on 45. Here's one that I saw listed on VH1's Top 100 songs of the 80s but, in fact, did not even make the Top 40 (I think #46).
Wouldn't It Be Good - Nik Kershaw

Thanks Martin! I saw that you posted Minnesoter by the Dandy Warhols on the Vinyl Singles thread! About a month ago, I dug out ...The Dandy Warhols Come Down cd/lp to listen to and pick out a track for the Saturday Listening Party Under the Stars cd that was slated that week. 'Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth' was the hit that got them notice off that record, and my other favs are Minnesoter and this tune:

Yep – „Minnesoter“ is such a fine song by the band. Glad you like it, John! You write that you dug out „…The Dandy Warhols Come Down“ CD/LP? Well, then you have a real nugget there, right?
