I was just listening to a power pop comp cd that Tim put together back in 2009. It opens with Energy by Apples in Stereo that you all are probably hearing in a commercial quite a bit. The 2nd tune is from an Irish band Bell X1 who sounds a bit like Talking Heads. Reviewers on amazon allude to it having been a Top 5 radio hit (Modern Rock perhaps?). The Great Defector - Bell X1 The 3rd tune is a Robyn Hitchcock number. I'm sure I'll add some more of these!

Track 4 on Tim's power pop comp cd is a track by a UK band, Hatcham Social. Allmusic guide compares them to Jesus and the Mary Chain and Charlatans UK. The Charlatans comparison is not surprising as they are produced by ex Charlatans frontman and Creation Records head Tim Burgess.
So So Happy Making - Hatcham Social
The 5th tune is by a Canadian band, The Novaks, who are heavily influenced by The Rolling Stones and Faces. Little Steven of Springsteen's E Street Band has been a champion, playing them on his radio show and eventually signing them to his own record label, Wicked Cool Records. Echoes of Tom Petty are said to be found in their music, and I can hear a little Petty vocal stylings in this tune.

Track 16 is from a minimalist husband and wife duo, Mates of State. I think I came across this when I was watching the Young Folks video by Peter Bjorn and John on youtbute a few years ago.

In the 90's there was an alternative band I loved called Muzzle. Their album Betty Pickup was awesome. I uploaded my favorite tune from it several years ago.

And two tunes from Muzzle's follow up band, Young Sportsmen.
