Fastest I have had a car up to is 149 MPH and that was one of my Corvettes going back to the 90's...and the fastest I have had a motorcycle up to is only 137 MPH and that was my Kawasaki KZ 1000, ltd in the late 70's. Both were on the same road, the Robert Moses Caussway on Long Island that parallells Jones Beach and it was the dead of winter on a straightaway that goes for miles and noone in sight. When we drive up to Rhode Island in the summer or out of state in desolate areas if there are long straight-aways where there is no traffic or anywhere sops can hide I usually goes as fast as the car can before running out of road, Andrea's BMW I had it up in the mid 130's before it hit the wall.
Same Question???

no.. "IT" the Beemer Hit the WaLL (COULDN'T GO ANY FASTER) LOL!
My boyfreind at the time and I got my 72 Olds, Delta88 up to 104mph. I "freeked out" and told him to SLOWITDOWN, before he could go any faster, on the back roads of Wisconsin.
What was your first car and did you buy it?

The first car I drove was a 1962 Dodge Dart (small 8-cylinder; 318 engine). It was my parents' car and they let me use it when I started driving in 1971. It was the same model car officers Toody and Muldoon drove on "Car 54, Where Are You?". It also was a "push-button automatic". I wish I still had it - the push-button thing was a short-lived novelty.
The first car I bought was shortly after I started driving - a 1963 Mercury Meteor. I called it Chunga's Revenge after the Zappa LP.

The first car I had was a third hand Seat 600. A tiny little thing for anglo-saxon standards, but incredibly popular in southern Europe in the 1960's, and still around in the late seventies/early eighties when I had it. It had a little hole on the floor, and, when it snowed, the snow would slowly pile up under the mat under my feet into a little mound. Fortunately it doesn't snow much in my part of Spain. If I had a clue of how to post pctures in this forum, I'd bring one up so you'd see what it looked like. But I don't. L

The first car I drove was a 1965 Plymouth Barracoda, 8 cylinders, I believe a 273 engine. It was black with a red interior, and a very fast car. I was the first guy with a license in my crew, so that car was worn out pretty quickly.
The first car I bought was a 1970 Buick Skylark.

My first car that I drove was a Dodge Dart as well--though 1974...a year prior to the Dart in the photo. It was blue with a white hardtop. I remember when my family bought it it was considered a "compact" car! Now that sucker seems huge! I learned how to drive in that car and soon thereafter was tooling down the curvier residential parts of Sunset Blvd. (after going to Tower Records or the Whiskey A Go Go) with friends. I did terrify a couple of them by going a might too fast. I loved the fact that car had wind wings (so much more efficient than an air conditioner) and bench seats I'd love to have that car today. The first car I bought, with the help of my parents, was a 1987 Honda Civic...and I'm still driving it! 230,000+ miles and 32 miles per gallon . Though I know that its life is coming to an end and I'll have to get a new one soon--I'm proud not to be a typical American "consumer"! BTW: I've had the Civic up to 110 mph on (uninhabited, of course) highway... Same Question

I loved the old Cuda's..my cousin had one and another had the 440 Dodge Charger Hemi, I think that was 68...Andrea still has her parents 68 Mustang fastback inthe garage. In the early 70's I seriously thought about racing professionally and had a friend with a Nascar 69 427 (worked)Camaro that took on the track for qualifying runs.

don't ever buy a car for an investment and expect to make money on it very few do and most don't and even the ones that do probably would have made more money if they put that same amount in stocks, mutual funds or evcen a CD.
