You can lead a person to the truth, but you can't make him think.

I'm going to write a parody of a 70's song about removing decorations following lunch on Christmas day. I'll call it "Afternoon De-light."

Jack was listening to classic rock while eating some bacon that was not lean. A little hog fat with some Foghat.

ARTIFICIAL The room is flourishing with the artificial glow radiating from our electronic devices. Eyes stare contently through the virtual window of tempting touch screen gadgets.
Silence dominates.
So, as an attempt to remain human, I dare to utter a word, but before a single syllable could pass my lips in comes the invasion of a simultaneous ‘Shhhhhhhhhhh!’.
Annoyed family members now resemble a group of sighing cybermen, cradling their hand-held machines, as if they were the equivalent of a needy child.

Welcome Shambles, nice poem, it shows how our gadget-society has taken away some of our humanity. Please post more!

Welcome Shambles, nice poem, it shows how our gadget-society has taken away some of our humanity. Please post more! Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. It seems as though humanity is diminishing. Here's another one that I had written quite a while ago. Existential CrisisWhat is the point of living if we only live for living’s sake? Rendered nothing more than a breathing machine, inhaling dust, waiting, as our internal clockwork starts to rust. Yet, through this churning, we still wonder - ‘What is life to me?’ - It is transient, fragile, sadly so, completely, unbearably, free.

Great poem shambles! " What is life to me?" A question that seems to go un answered but simultaneously seems to change in stages, during the course of a (my) lifetime.

I'm gonna write a Metallica parody about the guy who escorted bad acts offstage at the Apollo Theater. I'll call it "Exit Sandman."

I encourage all to read Hufners review of No More Looking Back. Herb has taken Ray's songwriting class, and his analysis of Ray's music is very insightful, and interesting reading.
It can be found in Kinks Most Underrated Songs section.
