Hello everybody,
I recently bought a bunch of The Kinks' vinyls. I stumbled upon a red colored edition of MD. 9017 (Mode records). It's a French compilation with their 'greatest hits'. Does anyone else have a copy of this, or does anyone know how rare this is, cause limited in those days meant something else than nowadays.
Thanks in advance

I don't see any information on that on Dave Emlen's site, www.kindakinks.net, which is my usual first resource for information on such matters. Sounds like it might be a rarity indeed, but I'm not much of an expert on the collectibles -- anybody else out there?

Thanks for the info hollyh I just checked Amazon, where some guy is selling the black edition for 74,99$, what a joke! www.discogs.com/sell/item/27071435?ev=bp_titl <-- this is the black vinyl edition, but apparently nobody on discogs seems to possess the red one, so the mystery goes on...

Hollyh, I might sell it yes, since I have the tracks on other records already. I have to say, it sounds really good, knowing that colored vinyl might have poor sound quality. I found some more info about it here: eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=65697

Um, I have those. They were issued in both Red and Blue vinyl, of which I have both. (Circa 1979-80?ish) I don't believe they will fetch more than a few BOB, as they were not a limited edition and there were many of them floating around for year after pressing. BUT... I could be wrong! Smiley
