FROM NME:Kinks legend teams up with Johnny BorrellRay Davies rounds off the Electric Proms in style Kinks legend Ray Davies teamed up with Razorlight's frontman Johnny Borrell tonight (October 28) for a version of former Number One hit 'Sunny Afternoon'. The pair, who went into the studio to re-record the famous hit in the summer of 2006, joined forces again onstage at the Camden Roundhouse on the closing night of the 2007 BBC Electric Proms. Introducing Borrell, Davies told the audience: "I would like to introduce someone to you. Johnny Borrell from Razorlight, give this kid a round of applause," before he quipped: "I used to complain about him when he was a kid in school." The duo then took up the vocals on the classic hit while the audience sang along. The performance was an eventful one for Davies who later drafted in the Crouch End Festival Choir for four Kinks classics. Davies was in high spirits throughout the show, bantering with the audience and telling them anecdotes about each song. Before launching into 'A Well Respected Man', he joked: "Last time I played here with a band I don't mention because every time I do I get a £10 fine. OK I played with The Kinks, but last time I played here, I said we'd never play here again. But now I'm not with them and here I am again." The singer, who was backed by a nine-piece band throughout his set, also played four songs off his new album 'Working Man's Cafe which is officially due out tomorrow (October 29) but was also given away for free in last week's Sunday Times, much like Prince's recent release through The Mail On Sunday. In reference to last week's giveaway, Davies said: "My new record is not out until tomorrow but strangely some people seem to know the songs already. There must be some sort of conspiracy." As the star brought the show to a close he urged the crowd to sing along to 'Dedicated Follower Of Fashion', bantering with them as he introduced the Crouch End Festival Choir, adding: "That's not bad but you are not tight enough. You need some help." He closed the show with The Kinks' famous hit 'You Really Got Me' which saw the crowd sing back every word. Ray Davies played:'I'm Not Like Everybody Else' 'Where Have All The Good Times Gone' 'Til The End Of The Day' 'A Well Respected Man' 'The Tourist' 'Sunny Afternoon' 'Working Man's Cafe' 'Morphine Song' 'One More Time' 'Come Dancing' '20th Century Man' 'Celluloid Heroes' 'Tired Of Waiting For You' 'All Day And All Of The Night' 'Dedicated Follower Of Fashion' 'Days' 'Waterloo Sunset' 'Shangri-La' 'Lola' 'Imaginary Man' 'You Really Got Me' Earlier, Northern Irish outfit Duke Special also teamed up with The Magic Numbers singer Romeo Stodart for a live rendition of the single 'Our Love Goes Deeper Than This'.

The songs with the Choir are KILLERS...Get out the Kleenex...Just the way I've heard them in my head for years! I won't give anything else away except to say that if a picture really IS worth a thousand words, then the close-up of OLGA (i'm pretty sure it is her) during SHANGRI-LA says it ALL! You Go, Girl!

FROM BBC:What happened What happened on stage minute by minute21.02 - Ray takes to the stage to a huge applause. Sharply dressed in shirt and jacket he straps on a green guitar and launches into 'Everybody Else'. 21.03 - 'Good Times Gone' has the audience singing and dancing. 21.06 - Now it's time for a crowd solo at end of 'Good Times Gone'. Eventually they get the timing right. 21.10 - Tonight is the first time Ray's played Roundhouse since he was here with his old band. "£10 fine everytime I mentions The Kinks", he says. First tenner gone. 21.13 - Next up 'The Tourist' from his first solo album. Ray dedicates it to his time spent in America. 21.14 - Ray loses his jacket to reveal a snazzy shirt. It's getting hot in here. 21.18 - "This gig has a North London feel", says Ray. Now he brings on Razorlight's Johnny Borrell for a rendition of 'Sunny Afternoon'. 21.21 - Everyone joins in singing "In the Summertiiiiiime". It may be pouring down outside but there's a heatwave in the Roundhouse. 21.25 - Change of shirt for new track working man's cafe. Ray plays it for his brother and ex Kinks bandmate Dave. 21.38 - More solo stuff now. 'One More Time' gets a big cheer, but the crowd are fairly static. They're eager for some more Kinks numbers I'd wager. 21.39 - Right on cue, 80s Kinks hit 'Come Dancing' livens things up. 21.45 - Another tenner gone as Ray mentions the Kinks again before launching into '20th Century Man'. He pays tribute to his dad's generation. 21.59 - Up to £60 now on the fines as Ray dedicates 'Tired of Waiting' to his old band. 22.03 - Another song for Dave as Ray reveals how every major label turned The Kinks down when they were teens. 'All Day And All Of The Night' finally gets the crowd rocking. 22.05 - Ray and band exit the stage as the crowd chant for more. 22.07 - Now in a black jacket and a white shirt, Ray returns joined by his "own singing angels from North London" - The Crouch End Festival Chorus. 22.09 - The audience join in on 'Dedicated Follower Of Fashion'. "Not tight enough", says Ray. The choristers are on hand to help. 22.19 - Sha-la-las all round as we get 'Waterloo Sunset' choral style. Ray tells us "he is in paradise". 22.20 - Huge cheer for 'Waterloo Sunset' from old and young alike. There's a true mix of generations in tonight's crowd. 22.23 - It's the first time live ever for 'Shangri-La'. It would've featured in the first rock opera tv show, but it never got made. Ray tells us this is a good thing. 22.28 - The Crouch End Festival Chorus exits as Ray rocks the crowd with 'Lola'. This is definitely cause for another singalong. 22.32 - Ray exits stage left but no one in the crowd is moving yet. 22.34 - A few older heads leave when he returns to play new song 'Imaginary Man'. Surely that's not it for The Kinks tracks though? 22.40 - Never leave before the final whistle... Ray has one more treat. The Kinks' first hit 'You Really Got Me' has everyone clapping. 22.43 - Big cheers and it's all over. Ray showed us he certainly can still rock.
