I concur Don! When I started exploring the entire Kinks katalogue and discovered this song, I was amazed that it wasn't a single because it is excellent and radio friendly!

I quite agree Donl and John. Sweet Lady Genevieve is one of my favourite Kinks songs,and as you said John - very radio friendly!

it should have been released, followed by one of the survivors and daylight. if they were preservation 1 might have been a decent seller. if you weren't familiar with the kinks the preservation project would have been tough to get into. i didn't appreciate act 2 until last year after hearing a boot of the preservation show. i think the politics of the project are just as relevant today maybe even more than when recorded.

Sweet Lady Genevieve should have been released as a single from the very start. It's got good lyrics, it's a catchy tune and it has a beatles touch! Up to now this song is one of my Top-10-Kinks Favourites!

When I first listened to Preservation Act 1 this track stood out straight away,I think its easily the best song on the album
