I gotta ask - Are Ina's eyes *actually* red? I haven't seen a pic yet where theyre not. Maybe he's the next Terminator...... And oooooh, I came home from the liverpool gig today to find a postcard from London!!!!! Thanks you guys, I was really stoked to get it, especialy as I had no idea is was coming!! Speaking of Liverpool, have mixed feelings. At the end was great cos he closed the second set with ADAAOTN and loads of us scrambled over seats to get to the front and had a proper boogie and people behind us were forced to stand up to see. But most of the people up on the balcony or whatever you call that upper tier bit were dead boring b*stards and sat down the entire time! And the guy sitting next to me was totally draining my mojo so I felt a bit deflated about halfway through. And I swear both sets were shorter than last time. Which is a bit annoying seeing as the tickets were almost £10 more expensive this time round. Hmmmm.... I liked one of the new songs - can't remember what it was called but he opened the second set with it. BUT (and this'll be the part where people start throwing things) I really don't like The Imaginary Man. Ellie described it as Blur circa 1995, and my immediate thought was 'how many lyric clichés can you fit in one song?!'. But the band were really good! I like Milton, he's like Justin Hawkins with straight hair! ;D He added some funky new twists to some of the songs, but it's true - acoustic is not his forté. But nowhere near as bad as a lot of people have been making out. Love Gunnar, he's ace, especially when he's waiting for Ray to stop wittering on and get on with it - fun facial expressions! Big D!ck was doing is usual 'stuffed bassist' thing but he grinned a few times and you could see him taking the piss a little behind Ray's back - good boy! Karin was an odd dynamic - dunno whether her microphone was set up too quietly or she just didnt stand close enough to it but most of the time you couldn't hear it. And during one song in the encore - might have been days - she hit a really sour note. Which I found quite funny - but then I'm part evil! Toby was ace as usual, and Jayne and I kept chanting "Toby! Toby!" when he came on for each encore, which amused Ray somewhat ;D Cant remember the setlist offhand, I'm sure it'll turn up somewhere. From what I remember (in no particular order): INLEE, WHATGTG, TTEOTD, After the Fall, Village Green, The Tourist, Celluloid Heroes, ToW, New song (No-one Listened?), Dedicated Follower of Fashion, Sunny Afternoon, Dead End Street, Lola, ADAAOTN, YRGM, A Long Way From Home, Lonesome Train, Set Me Free, 20th Century Man, Autumn Almanac, Waterloo Sunset.

Thanks for the review, guin! I hate those mojo-killers; they should be made to sit in a separate section. Gunnar IS a great addition to the band, isn't he?

Yup! I think the keys really added an extra dimension to the band.
And forgot to mention that it's great that Ray FINALLY has backing vocalists!
Yup, it always hacks me off that the fun people who really wanna get up and dance most of the time never get good tickets. Boring people who just wanna sit down should be made to sit in the boxes or up on the balcony. Or stay at home. They should not be allowed anywhere near the front 5 rows!

Though I have to say it didn't help that the securitystaff at the Phil were being complete and utter Nazis!!! A woman got up from her *aisle* seat to boogie in the aisle, not getting in anyone's view, and the staff forced her to go sit down. (Oh yeah, that reminds me, he played Come Dancing!). When we got up for ADAAOTN and for the encores, a guy about my age rushed down from his seat to try and get to the front, and was standing in the aisle space, and the staff made him and some other people go back to their seats. During the sodding encore! The poor lad missed shaking Ray's hand cos of the evil cow who moved him. And they used to be so relaxed there. Shame on them, shame.

Thanks Guin for your review.. surprised you rememberd anything How many pints at the pub before? LOL! Did you see Mr. Red Shoes? Iñaki has beautiful pale BLUE eyes, that's why the poor dear always gets the RED. PS. I had a Mojo killer at the RAH sat next to me -- you'da thunk he was at an opera. The Snobbers! He and his companion kept glaring at me eveytime I danced in my seat and sang along, quietly -- that's NOT my style. Sorry, like the idea of First Come FIRST served now.. Those who wanna get up and boogie all night, GET 2, if they put in the time! I've had enough bad seats all these years and got stuck next to spoilers and people who think they're at the Symphony.. IT'S ROCK AND ROLL..

Really? Blue? How bizarre! Not typically Spanish! So he bears an even stronger resemblence to Jake Gyllenhaal than I thought! I don't drink pints, I'm a lady ;D Actually, I had a double vodka and orange, a double vodka lime and lemonade and a Bailey's before the gig - by my standards that's very little! And yes I did see Mr Red Shoes, Ellie, her boyfriend and I met up with him and his son for a coupla drinks before the gig.
