Anybody else ever thought that the Beatles' "Lovely Rita" makes a great companion song to "Lola"?

Watching the Live ("For The Road") footage of Superman, among others, Ray goes into that early 1980s new wave kind of voice "Hey girl, we gotta get out of here..." and for a moment it's like, hey wtf?
But Ray's an actor, and that show was only 4 or 5 years from all that Preservation role play, and just a decade from "Lola"... with the sequel visit with Lola just a couple of years down the line.
Oh, that footage, live in Rhode Island and Japan, makes the slightly inept "Story Of The Kinks" DVD well worth the money over and over again, The Kinks were simply on fire in the early 1980s, and it is no surprise that the Davies Brothers and comrades were easily filling stadiums, as this footage, which I'm watching t=for the first time, easily blows away peers such as The Stones, Wings, et al as well as most of the ballyhooed "New Wave" of the time.
You can see the bad reviews for this easily available DVD all over the internet but I have to say ignore that if you love The Kinks, there's some spectacular video from this phase, as well as very early on when Dave Davies could easily have been mistaken (?) for the driving force in the band, several early songs featuring him on lead vocal, complete... then an amazing "Death Of A Clown" that played the MTV game to perfection 20 years before the fact.
A highlight, being a big fan of the "Schoolboys In Disgrace" album, is the Japanese performance of "The Hard Way", although the year is 1979 or 1980, Ray is still doing the song "in character", with a realistic fright mask, as the long nosed School Teacher...
Get it.
Do it. Do it.

Thank you Will. Good advice Perplexing moments on the DVD, though... showing 30 seconds of "Waterloo Sunset" and "Days" among others of the 1960s/ I have to wonder, as someone else speculated, that there was a rights problem with the Pye material? Has this been discussed yet?
